The "y" seems unnecessary to me. I prefer Zoe. The name is cute.. maybe a little TOO cute, but its nice.

Zoe, by far. Zoey always makes me think of a little boy (probably because of Joey) or an exclamation (like Zowie! hehe). The name itself is "cute," as a pp mentioned, but I also have a hard time picturing it on anyone over the age of four, even though I do know of at least two well-known actresses with the name. It's just very cutesy, so it doesn't sound very mature/formal, even on an adult, KWIM. The muppet and Rolie Polie Olie associations probably don't help that, though.

I don't think of the name Zoe as cutesy at all - maybe because the first time I heard the name was on an older Greek lady.
