I love, love, love, Lorelai. I wanted to use it but DH doesn't like it. I think Eden is pretty but will become popular in the next year or two because Marcia Cross named one of her twins Eden.

I had to go with Lorelei for this one.

I definitely think it ages better. It's one of those names I can see as being cute for a little girl but work equally well on a grown woman. And if she ends up wanting something simpler as an adult or for professional purposes, there are so many nns available with this name -- Lore, Lora/Laura, Lorel/Laurel, Lori, Lola, Lila, Rory, etc.

Eden, on the other hand, basically has Eden or Edie, which is cute for a little girl but no more mature, and I don't believe you liked it anyway. ;) Also, even though you love it, I know you're aware of all the different images many get with this name (some make the really religious association, others get a very hippie feel, etc.), and while I can understand loving the name despite all that, I do think it affects how well it will carry over into adulthood. For lack of a better example, picture meeting a grown woman named Serenity, Heaven or Rainbow (no offense to anyone with those names, I'm using them because they're ones I have personal experience with).

So while I know how much you love both names, if you really want to know which one would best fit a girl or woman of any age, I'd have to honestly say it's Lorelei.
