I have been noticing that alot of you HATE the name Issabella nn Bella. Why? I think the names is very pretty myself, but thats just me. Do you have any other cute names that would go with Emmaleigh Louise nn Emma??

I think 10 years ago, a lot of us would have given you positive feedback about Isabella nn Bella. But after ten years of being absolutely inundated with little Bellas, most of us are just really tired of this name. It's not that the name is BAD, it's just that

I for one don't hate the name Isabella nn Bella. I actually really think it's a pretty name but like the pp said, I think everyone is just getting tired of it. If you like it you should by all means use it. Someone must love it or it wouldn't be used so much.

What about something like:

Audriana nn Anna

Juliana nn Jules or Anna

Aubriana nn Aubrey

Carrigan nn Carrie

Adelaide nn Adie

Geneva nn Neva

Genevieve nn Eve

Anastasia nn Anna or Stasia

Lucienne nn Luci

Alishaye (al-ah-shay) nn Shay

Shaunerie nn Shaun

Allison nn Ali

Adeline nn Adie

Are there any on this list that would work for you. Please let me know. Good luck.

I sigh everytime I hear Isabella, Grace, or all derivations of Katherine (Katelyn,

I like the name Isabella fine, but it is horribly popular (blame Tom Cruise/Nicole Kidman 14 yrs ago). Bella is not my fav as a nn...it verges on the trashy side of things to me (unless you're legitimately Italian). Emma is so decidedly English-sounding! If you want to use it, don't use Bella. Other ideas with Emma:

Emma and Libby (Elizabeth)
Emma and Maddie (Madeline)
Emma and Grace
Emma and Abby (Abigail)
Emma and Allie (Allison)
Emma and Ellie (Eleanor, Elizabeth)
Emma and Evie (Evelyn or Eve)
Emma and Anna/Hannah
Emma and Lottie (Charlotte)

Good luck! I think Isabella is a better fit with sisters Olivia, Alessandra, Giovanna or Arianna.

I agree with all the pp it is not a BAD name, there is just so many of them, and so many others on the board that LOVE it. If you love it though, thats all that matters. My suggestion is

Emmaleigh(nn Emma) and Caroline (nn Carrie)

Those sound very cute together. Again, if you love Emma and Bella then go with that!

Is there any way we can eliminate the "trashy" word when referring to what we consider a "bad" name?

I'm just tired of it. It's not a bad name, just one that I hear WAY too often.
