Thanks for everyone's input!

My husbands favorite is Paige, but I was wondering if it is a good name for a little girl. I think it's a beautiful woman's name, but am undecided about "baby Paige".

I like Hailey, but there is no nick-name and no short version that I can think of - we would always have to call her "Hailey."

And Alexis is also a good one, and we like the nick-name Alex. Just worried that she would not like being called a boy's name.

Am I being too picky and overthinking this or what?!?!

I like Paige a lot. It's cute and simple on a little girl, but I think it's very strong on a grown woman, too. I grew up with a girl named Paige (who's in her late 20s now), and I know a 14-year-old named Paige. Since I knew both of them as babies, I can definitely see it on a baby.

Hailey is cute, but it's almost too cute for me to picture it on a grown woman. I think Alexis is nice, but I like Alexa a little better. And I think Lexi/Lexie makes a very cute nn for a little girl. We almost named one of our DDs Alexandra; DH wanted to call her Allie, and I wanted to call her Lexie. My mom has a friend named Alexandra who goes by Xan (pronounced Zan). I think any of those nns are more feminine than Alex, but that's JMO.

I don't think Taylor is a bad name, but it was my maiden name, so it's hard for me to see it as a fn. Also, with a common last name like Williams, Taylor Williams ends up sounding more like somebody's hyphenated ln than a full name. Again, JMHO.

Anyway, my first vote goes to Paige, but if you changed Alexis to Alexa or Alexandra, I might be persuaded to vote for that instead.

You know, I think I agree with you on Hailey now that I think about it. It would be a little girly on a grown woman. And that's the second time now I've heard about Taylor being confused with a last name.

My husband's top two were Paige and Alexis anyway, so I think we'll narrow it down to those two - thank you for your help!

By the way, I liked Alexa too but DH nixed it in favor of Alexis.

Maybe I'll post one more poll with only the final two to see if any of the "Hailey" or "Taylor" voters would swing it another way!
