Is Alana too similar to Alivia? Alivia is my neice's name and we like the name Alana. Any opinions appreciated

I don't think they're too similar. I am thinking of the name Lila and my nieces name is Lilly.

I don't think they are the same at all. Alana is a very pretty name. I think you should go for it if that's the name you like

If it were siblings then I would say yes. But for cousins, they are not too similar.

I don't think it's too close at all, because Alivia sounds no different than if it was spelled the regular way with an O. I think your poor niece will go through life having to correct the spelling of her name constantly.

good luck

No, I don't think they are too similar at all. They just both start and end with the same letter, but they don't

I don't think they're too bad.
My dd is Avery and she has a cousin Avelea (sp? - sounds just like Avery with an L)
It's on her dad's side whom I divorced, but still that's awfully close. They also named their son Ethan just like my nephew's name. They can't pick their own names I guess.

So, no Alivia and Alana aren't too close.
