Ohh! How exciting! I hope everything goes great for you and your family!

You've "known" me for a while now, so you already know that I'm picky and opinionated, esp. when there are existing siblings. So--- here goes-

Anneliese Violet- Absolutely lovely. I love the contrast with Weston. A sophisiticated choice.

Annika Violet- A bit more edgy. Edgy is good with big brother Weston! These first two deserve serious consideration.

Autumn (don't know which mn)- The first couple of girls I heard this on, I loved it. Now, I've heard it too much. Still has a pretty sound. It's in a similar vein to Weston. I'm especially particular about sisters having more popular names than their brothers. That would be the main reason I would strike this one. Lack of a clear mn choice might pose another problem- Autumn Violet is too much of a phrase, IMO.

Camryn Violet- I know you like it. I'm not a fan. Sorry. Also, I usually like a feminine, traditional mn with a cross-gender fn, but these two just don't quite go, to me.

Caroline Violet ( I like this, but it might be too common for me)- Pretty name. It is really, really common in GA, much more so than the national numbers show. I'd go more unexpected with brother Weston.

Bridget (mn ?)- Great name. Do you have a family mn that could work?

Kiersten Violet (dh really loves this one)- I prefer the sp. Kirsten. This was one of my original three loves, when my name obsession began. GREAT with the mn too! But, isn't it too similar to Weston?

Natalie Violet- See comments on Caroline, only its popularity is strongest in the Northwest and Midwest.

Laken Violet- Gorgeous! I would probably do a different ending with Weston. Still, it's a strong contender. Glad to see it on someone's list!

Boys:

August Liam- I think I've said it before. I'm not a big fan of August. I think I'm pretty much alone on this, though! The combo has fantastic flow and strong appeal. Sounds like a brother to Weston Layne.

Owen August- The flow isn't as great, to me. The two vowels and the double use of two syllable names make it a bit forced. Weston and Owen are too similar for my taste. I don't like that all the letters to Owen's name are found in Weston's. Sorry.

Roan/Rowan August- Still too similar to Weston's name for my taste. Pretty good flow. I prefer August Liam, though.

Isaac (I don't think this one goes with ds's name at all)- Hmmm. I think you could pull it off. The contrast is interesting. It allows each sibling's name to retain its strength. But, it's so much more used than Weston, and will continue to grow. AND, I know you love the mn August, which doesn't work.

Mason August- I usually like a little bit of contrast in the style of fn and mn. I like the name Mason too. This just doesn't really do it for me though.

Reid (mn ?)- Great name. Great with Weston. Equal in style, usage, strength, and appeal.

Corbin August (not sure about this one)- I like the name. I like the contrast from fn to mn this time. I don't think it's the winner but don't count it out just yet.

Fun list! Keep us posted and take care!

I love all the names you have picked! My favorites are Mason for a boy and its a tie between Camryn and Kiersten for a girl!

Congrats on #2! Another sweetie to add to the little cutie in the corner of your message. ;) Here are my thoughts on the names:

Girls:

Anneliese Violet-That's pretty. I like the nn Annie a lot w/Weston.

Annika Violet-Ah, I like this even better. Beautiful.

Autumn (don't know which mn)-Autumn Violet is okay. I don't really love Autumn much, but it goes nicely w/Weston.

Camryn Violet-No, no. Camryn is way too masculine, imo.

Caroline Violet ( I like this, but it might be too common for me)-That's nice. It's not too common in my area, but I hear in some places it is.

Bridget (mn ?)-This is nice.

Kiersten Violet (dh really loves this one)-It is pretty & different. I'd be wary of pronounciation issues.

Natalie Violet-I don't love this one, but it's fine. It goes well w/Weston.

Laken Violet-Hm, I don't know. Laken seems sort of made-up.

By the way, I love Violet as a fn as well. My favourite from your list is Bridget, but I like Annika best w/Weston.

Boys:

August Liam-Ooh, that's very handsome.

Owen August-I really like the sound of this. Owen is charming.

Roan/Rowan August-I'd do Roan to avoid gender confusion. It sounds strong.

Isaac (I don't think this one goes with ds's name at all)-Not so much, but it doesn't not go either.

Mason August-That's not my favourite, but it's perfectly fine.

Reid (mn ?)-That's not my favourite, but I like it w/Weston. Reid August sounds good to me.

Corbin August (not sure about this one)-I love Corey, but can't get into Corbin.

I think that I like August Liam closely followed by Owen August the best.

Hope this helps!

My thoughts on your names:

Girls:

Anneliese Violet - I like this, I really do, but it always seems like too much name, if that makes sense. And the poor kindy student who has to learn to spell and write this as well!

Annika Violet - Nice, not my favorite, but really nice

Autumn (don't know which mn) - eh, like that you are not pairing this with Violet though

Camryn Violet - NMS, really don't like this as well with Weston

Caroline Violet ( I like this, but it might be too common for me) - Pretty

Bridget (mn ?) - Love this name, so cute with Weston!

Kiersten Violet (dh really loves this one) - Really like this, but a little too rhymey with Weston for my tastes

Natalie Violet -Really really pretty. Like this a lot for you

Laken Violet - nms

Boys:

August Liam - Love this

Owen August - Great, but I don't like the sibs names ending w/ the same sound

Roan/Rowan August - See Owen

Isaac (I don't think this one goes with ds's name at all) - eh, not bad, but nothing special

Mason August - nmsaa

Reid (mn ?) - Like this a lot. What is wrong with Reid August?

Corbin August (not sure about this one) - Really like this one with Weston, even with the matching ending I have been complaining about. Just like the feel of them together

Congrats Michelle.

Here are my favorites from your lists:
Girls:
Caroline Violet - LOVE this one! I love Caroline - a classic, and I love family names as mns.

Boys:
Reid
Would you consider Roman? I prefer that to Roan and Rowan. Roman August would be cool - a good strong boy name.

Good luck!
Hope

Thanks Ginger, I am so glad I found someone that shares my love of Laken...dh just let me keep it on the list to humor me I think, he still says he does not like it :( I'll keep working on it though!

Oh, I wanted to add Ginger, that dh and I like the pronouciation KEER-STEN (beginning rhymes with beer), that is why it is spelled Kiersten, while to me Kirsten is pronouced KER-STEN (beginning rhymes with were). So that is why I prefer the spelling I have...would you pronounce those two names the same? Just curious. Thanks again for your help.

Michelle

I figured that's why you had it spelled that way.

I like the way Kirsten looks. I pronounce Kirsten with the keer- sound, but it does have the alternate pro. of kurr-. I read in one of my name guides that pronunciation using this spelling is about 50/50. I just think it looks less forced/more natural. Kersten, the Swedish version, says kurr- to me.

It would require some clarification, but not much, I think. The more standard pronunciation where we are is keer-.

I LOVE the name.

With Weston I think I like...

Girls:

Anneliese Violet- nice name, doesn't seem to go with ds

Annika Violet -- I think this is a good match with Weston

Autumn (don't know which mn) -- I love the name Autumn, but not sure w/ds

Camryn Violet - nms

Caroline Violet ( I like this, but it might be too common for me) -- maybe

Bridget (mn ?) -- nice, how about Bridget Anneliese?

Kiersten Violet (dh really loves this one) - is this Kear-sten? (like rhyming with ear?) I like it alot. But very similar to ds

Natalie Violet -- this sounds great with ds

Laken Violet -- nms, but may go good with ds

Boys:

August Liam -- nms, also probably good with ds

Owen August -- love this name, just noticing the major overlap of letters o-w-e-n in both names. I love that kind of thing, but it may be too much for both fns.

Roan/Rowan August --nms, imo too similiar sounding to ds

Isaac (I don't think this one goes with ds's name at all) -- it's ok, definitely dif style

Mason -- nms

Reid (mn ?)-- Love Reid. Reid Isaac?

Corbin August -- like it with Weston

Liam August -- nms, but does sound nice together, could work with ds

So my favs are

Bridget Annelise, Natalie Violet, Corbin August and Reid Isaac ... OR Sasha Annelise and Elliot Reid?

WDYT?

Girls:

Anneliese Violet -- very pretty
Annika Violet -- similar to Anneliese, and I like this even better with Weston. Very nice!
Autumn (don't know which mn) -- a nice season, but nmsaa for a name
Camryn Violet -- I know you love this, but it's much too masculine for me, especially since Weston and Cameron sound like great names for brothers
Caroline Violet ( I like this, but it might be too common for me) -- love both names, but the -line/Vi- sounds aren't ideal (assuming you're not pronouncing it Carolyn)
Bridget (mn ?) -- wasn't Bridget Aileen under consideration (and isn't Aileen/Eileen/Helen/Eleanor a family name for you ... can't remember which version)? If so, this is my favorite. And Weston and Bridget are great together. ;)
Kiersten Violet (dh really loves this one) -- like the name, but I don't really like the similar endings of Weston and Kiersten. I like some of the other choices better.
Natalie Violet -- nms
Laken Violet -- I actually don't dislike this, but for some reason every time I've seen the combo the N ending of Laken has made me see Violet as Violent (and I don't do this with other Violet combos so it has to be the N)

Boys:

August Liam -- like this a lot
Owen August -- I like it, but o-w-e-n can all be found in Weston ... not sure if that would bother you
Roan/Rowan August -- Weston and Rowan are a great pair, and I like the W in both (a little not-too-obvious connection )
Isaac (I don't think this one goes with ds's name at all) -- I can actually see Weston and Isaac, but you're right, it's not my favorite
Mason August -- I don't think Weston is common enough to pair it with such a trendy name. Aside from that, I don't like the the similar sounds in Weston and Mason.
Reid (mn ?) -- Weston and Reid go well together. Not sure about the flow of Reid August, but August Reid could work. Any other family names you'd want to use for a mn?
Corbin August (not sure about this one) -- I like Corbin. Not sure about the flow with August, though.
Liam August -- I prefer Owen or Rowan. Similar in style to Liam, but they have a more the same feel as Weston, IMO.

HTH
