2 virtue names in family?

Is it really too much to have 2 virtue names for your kids? DH is really stuck on the names Hope or Joy for a girl (Hope being his number 1 choice). I like the name Hope, but I'm unsure since we already have a dd Grace. He doesn't care what other people think and thinks we should name baby Hope if it is a girl...is it really that bad to have them match?

My favorite is Sarah, which he likes ok, but he really prefers Hope. I like Hope too, and I like that it is one syllable ending in a silent e just like Luke and Grace (which weren't planned to be the same).

Love Hope with Luke and Grace! Darling! Much better than Joy or Sarah (no offense!)

Hmm.. I guess if he loves it and you do too and don't care what other people think, then go with it! It shouldn't be a problem. However if you want other people's opinions, I really don't like it. I LOVE both names on their own, but it seems kind of cheesy when used as siblings, sorry. JMI. I love Sarah and Cora for you though.

I personally prefer Sarah in this situation, although Hope is a beautiful name.
Another thing to consider, is there a chance you might have more children? If you have yet another girl, will you then worry about continuing the trend vs. having 2 out of 3 girls matching?

Just a thought!

I think if you really love Hope more than any other name and you and dh don't mind using two virtue names then you should use it. That being said, I personally would try to find something else, because I think it's a little cutesy. What if you decide on two or three names and then see what feels right when the baby is born. You might see her and say she couldn't be anything other than Hope! Here are a few other ideas - I'm sure you've seen most of them before, but I love your children's names and it's fun to think of names for their sibling.

Claire/Clare - This is my favorite with Grace and Luke
Mae
Eve or Eva
Blythe
Kate
Rose
Faye
Adele
Ayla
Anna
Gwen
Nina
Mary
Mia
Tessa

My top five are Claire, Mae, Mia, Eve or Eva, and Anna.
Good Luck!

I love the name Hope!!! And, think it's underused. I say go for it. I know a family with a Grace and Faith!

I like the name Hope. In terms of being "matchy" I think it's only an issue when you're faced with one of the extremes - desperately trying to find OR avoid one.

So don't avoid this match b/c of what other people might think. For what it's worth, I don't immediately think of the "virtue" when I hear the name Grace. I do for Hope and Faith.

I love it! I think it fits perfectly with the other two names. Like the last pp I don't think of Grace as a virtue name. Hope is very pretty and is not overused which is always a plus. If you love it use it!!

I wouldn't think anything of it if I heard two sisters Grace and Hope, I do however still love Molly for you, so if your looking for opinions, I would say use Molly! If you guys both love Hope, then you should use it.

I personally think it's a bit on the cutesy side, but if that doesn't bother you I would say go for it.

I love Hope with your kids names. Luke, Grace and Hope - sounds good if you ask me.
