Thank you for sharing the article - interesting...
IMO, some of these names are different to Mackenzie. I feel that Mackinzie and Mackanzie are different names and not just different spellings. Anyone else think that?
Of the list, I like Mackenzie, Mackinsey, Makensy and Mackensie.
I don't like Mackenziee, Machenzie, Mackanzie, Mykensie and Makynzye
If I saw Mckenze, Mckenize, Makinze, Makynse, Makynize or Makenze, I would probably say Mah-kenz rather than Mah-kenz-zee because of the spelling!
Interesting list!
Thanks!

Oh, you're definitely right. That's the problem with many "kre8iv" spellings ... they no longer resemble the names they're supposed to represent, and often cannot be pronounced the same according to the grammar rules we all should have learned in elementary school.
Like you said, Mackinzie would be "Mc-Kin-zee" and Mackanzie is "Mc-Kann-zee." Similarly, switching the Mc-/Mac- for Ma- or My- does not the same name or pronunciation make. ;) MyKenzee (or whatever) doesn't say Mackenzie. It says "my Ken-zee." Just like Makynna isn't the same as McKenna. That one says "Ma Kin-a." LOL
You can't just randomly change letters and call it the same name or expect it to be pronounced the same. It doesn't make it less common, just more confusing (and often uneducated, as evidenced by some of these LOL). I'm guessing that was kind of the point of the article, to sarcastically point out that purposefully misspelling a name isn't so unique when everyone else is doing it.
