I loved Giavanna Reese for a girl but daddy says no since everyone will just "give" her a nn.
Other girls are Autumn and Taylor..
He and I thought no big deal that since we both loved Mason James it would be a boy and then...Definately a girl!
He still can't let go of Mason and says it can be for either and you just spell it differently.
I can't imagine doing that to her...I am still wanting to try to include my Irish and Italian side to naming her.
Oh, there can be no names that start with c or k since our last name starts with a k.
Thanks for your help!!

It would have to just hit me so well that I could block out the fact that I had a boy in mind for the name.
how would you spell it?

I've honestly never seen it spelled any way other than Mason. You could just add a -y and make it Mayson which seems more feminine, or you could use it as a middle name. I had a female friend in high school who was Elaine Mason. We all thought it was cool. : )

I went to school with a girl named Maysie! That's sort of like Mason, but girlier.

How about Maclyn since you like Mason - I know a little girl with that name and she goes by her full name, not a nn.

I'm not crazy about Mason for a girl but since your other DD has a unisex or boys' name, Mason would fit with your family.

I agree with you. My son's name is Mason and I personally don't particularly like the idea of it getting used as a girl's name, but then another post said some famous person already has a daughter named Mason. To me, its all boy, but I guess I am biased. LOL Here are some other suggestions with G and M. I really like the name Reese, have you thought of using it as a first name. It goes well as a middle name too, though.

Gianna Reese-a little shorter that your original choice, and less likely to get a nn
Maleah Reese- I just really like this. pronounced (Mah-Leah)

You might be able to compromise for Reese Mason if he insists on still using it. Or Mason as a middle name with a different FN. Sorry about the shortage of suggestions. Thought I would come up with more. We are having the opposite problem... a 3rd boy that I was sure was going to be a girl until the ultra sound. Good Luck!

I've always thought that was funny...he has a name that's generally considered feminine and all of his daughters have unisex or male names. You'd think he'd KNOW! (BTW, they call her May.)
