I was just wondering which name everyone likes best...
Eden Grace (Edie)
Eden Lynne (Edie)
Sasha Lynne
Marta Lynne
Missy Lynne
Grace Elizabeth
Ruth (we haven't thought of a middle name for this one yet? Ruth is my Grandmother's name)
Lynne is my middle name so it would be kind of nice to use it for our little girl but I'm not sure how good it sounds with Eden. Our new baby will have a big brother named Landon. Also, to let you know, I am looking for something unique and not trendy but still very pretty, feminine, and "normal". I don't want a a weird, made up sounding name. Anyway, these are our choices so far. What do you all think? Thanks for all your help!!!

I love love love Eden. I've been totally obsessed with it lately. I think it's gorgeous and unique but not weird. I think Edie is a cute nn (good friends of mine just had a baby and named her Edie actually) but I love Eden and probably would use the full name most of the time just because I love it so much.
I think Eden Lynn is too repetitive to flow well. Eden Grace is gorgeous. I understand wanting to use Lynn for personal reasons though - are there any other family names that might sound good with Eden?
I like Eden Lynne best from your list (better than Eden Grace simply because I agree you should use your mn & I think Eden Lynne sounds fine together). BUT ... I hate the nn Edie! So I would vote for Eden Lynne unless you're going to call her Edie. If you really want to change the beautiful name Eden to Edie I would then have to vote for Grace Elizabeth!
Eden Lynne
Grace Elizabeth
Grace Elizabeth is my favorite I believe. Grace means "grace of God" and Elizabeth means "consecrated to God". (www.babynames.com)
Grace Elizabeth is very elegant and you can use any of the names as a nick name.
Grace, Liz, Beth, Lizzy, Elizabeth, Eliza.
I also liked Sasha Lynne or Sasha Grace and apparently Sasha is a form of Alexander.
Hi,
Unique, not trendy, feminine and "normal"- :P
Of your picks I love Marta and Ruth, I think they fit your criteria perfectly :)
Eden, Sasha and Grace are quite trendy to my ear- Grace is #13, and I guess it depends on where you are but around here it seems every other two-year-old is Grace, Lily or Em.
Eden's #340, so it's not everywhere, but it's only been in the top 500 names since 2001, so it is a 'trendy' name.
Sasha is #370, but it hit its peak in the 1980s and has only been around in the top 1000 names since the 70s...but I'm by no means unbiased, as I had a childhood cat named Sasha...Missy is a cute nn, usually for Melissa (though the only Missy I know is an Elisabeth), but I'm not so sure as a "standalone" name.
Marta hasn't been in the top 1000 names since 1986- not at all trendy, and it's a lovely name. While Ruth is at about the same popularity (#352) as Eden, unlike Eden it has been that popular for decades, so it sounds more timeless.
What caught my eye about your post(apart from Marta, which I love!) was Grace Elizabeth: we're expecting twins in April, a boy and a girl, and the girl's name we have picked out is Anne Elspeth, which is of course the same- Anne means Grace, and Elspeth is an old scottish form of Elizabeth. What I was wondering is does Anne hold any appeal for you? It's pretty, feminine, normal...and totally untrendy at #398 (of course I'm extremely biased here...I also love Jane, and that's even less trendy at #460). I guess Anne Lynne wouldn't work, but Anne Elizabeth would, or Anne Marta, or Ruth Anne...
Sorry for the long post, I'm killing time before a mtg...and obviously, ignore my ramblings- the most important thing is that you and your S.O. love the name you pick :P
EDIT: oops. I forgot that big brother is Landon...Landon and Anne doesn't really work. Landon and Marta, Landon and Ruth (Landon and Jane? Jane Elizabeth?), then :P

Mummy of Ewan, Isla, and twins due April '06.

Hi there. Great list! Here are my thoughts-
Eden Grace (Edie)-So cute! I love Eden nn Edie. I would say that Landon & Eden aren't fabulous together, but they're not bad.
Eden Lynne (Edie)-I'd stick w/this mn. It doesn't flow that great w/Eden, but family names are always nice to keep going. Grace is way over-done in the mn spot anyway.
Sasha Lynne-That's not bad. It's not my favourite, but okay. Sorry to make your list bigger, but what do you think of Tasha? I much perfer that to Sasha.
Marta Lynne-Oh my, this is great. The styles of Marta & Landon don't actually go, but it's okay. Marta is adorable.
Missy Lynne-This is nms. However, if you do go w/Missy, I really think it'd be a much better idea to use Melissa nn Missy.
Grace Elizabeth-This isn't bad, but Grace is still over done in any case.
Ruth (we haven't thought of a middle name for this one yet? Ruth is my Grandmother's name)-I don't know if I like Ruth for a fn, but perhaps Eden Ruth would be a nice way to honour her.
If it were up to me, I'd bring Eden & Marta to the hospital & see which ones fits her best. Hope this helps!
My favourite by far is Marta Lynne, uncommon but familiar, easy-to-pronounce, and definitely feminine.
Eden is less feminine (I occasionally see it on boys) and more trendy, and I find it a little too rhymie-cute with big brother Landon. I do think Edie Lynne is really sweet, though, if you'd consider another way to get to Edie... perhaps Edith, Edita, Edina, Edwina, Enid?
Sasha isn't top ten but still on the trendy side, though pretty, and Grace, although a classic that can never really sound wrong, is very, very popular.
I think Missy is too girly-girl cute for a full first name, it wouldn't wear too well on a middle-aged professional. If you don't like the obvious Melissa as a full name to get to Missy (I happen to dislike it, but only because of a very negative personal association), Millicent (which I just love) or Amicia/Amice (not a made-up name, from the Latin root for "love" and common in the middle ages, though very rare now), or even Esmé (which I also love, though it's a bit more of a stretch to Missy) might work.
I also really like Ruth, it's been growing on me over the past couple of years, but since you're still searching for the right middle name, you probably agree that Ruth Lynne doesn't do it. How about Ruth Ellyn, which still relates, though less directly, to Lynne as your middle name?
Sorry if making new suggestions isn't helpful at this point... of the choices you've offered Marta Lynne is way ahead for me, then Ruth with the right middle name, then Sasha Lynne; I would definitely drop Grace since you want something unusual and not trendy, Eden because of your son's name, and Missy as I think it's a nickname only.

Now if my wife and I can just come up with a name...still stuck on the A's but we have until June. I'm liking Abbey and Ali for a girl...Alex for a boy. We can find out gender this week, if we choose (our first!). Good luck with the name
