Decker or Decklan? I know the traditional spelling seem to be Declan, however, dh insists on Decklan.

What do you think of these two names?

TIA,

Between the three ;) I say:

Declan
Decker
Decklan

I just don't really like the "ckl"

I LOVE Declan, but honestly hate the spelling Decklan. The K is totally unneccessary and just looks wrong. Declan is popular enough name that most people are familiar with the spelling and are going to comment on the fact that it's spelling incorrectly. Your son would have to do that "Decklan with a K" explanation that so many of my friends with creatively spelled named hate doing. (ie "Jenni with an I" and "Cristin with a C")

Decker is okay, but I don't love it. Honestly, I really liked your earlier choices best. Maxwell

LOVE Declan, and Decker isn't bad either. If your dh insists on spelling it Decklan, you could always "accidentally" spell it correctly on his birth certificate . ;)

I like Decklan better then Decker. I do prefer the Declan spelling, but I understand how dh's can be.

Good Luck

There's a mom on another board I frequent whose son is Deklan. Seems to be a compromise on spelling...I prefer this to Decker or Decklan. GL!

I think Decker sounds nice, but would get teased a lot.

Declan is a fine Irish name. Decklan is just odd.

Decker reminds me too much of pecker. Sorry!
