Hi everyone, I just found this board and am hoping for some help. I am 11 weeks pregnant and expecting this to be a girl. I have an 18 month old daughter named Alexis Koryn. We have already decided on a boy name since it will be named after DH. Well we can't seem to agree on any girl names! He is just so closed minded!!
Okay here are my fav's:
Avery
Karlyn
Arissa
Keelyn
Now here are his:
Sasha
Tabitha
Victoria
Alyssa
Kyra
There are more that I just despise!!
So the only one if his I like are Kyra (getting way too popular) and Alyssa but I want to spell it Elyssa. He hates it! I still think Alyssa is too popular as well. He is more into traditional, older names and I am not. I really, really love Karlyn Alyssa and he says NO WAY to Karlyn! Anyway, that is my story. Hopefully we will agree on something. Last night he told me he would go for Elyssa Keelyn....what do you think. Is Alyssa/Elyssa to close to Alexis?
If you made it this far thanks.....

I think Alyssa/Elyssa is to close to Alexis. The first two syllables of the two names are so similar.
With sister Alexis Koryn...
Avery- I prefer this on a boy and would avoid another A name
Karlyn- Prefer Carly or Kaylen, this looks made up
Arissa- Again, made up
Keelyn- Again, made up
Sasha- Very pretty and feminine
Tabitha- LOVE this. Great name
Victoria- Beautiful classic
Alyssa- Very sweet
Kyra- Nice, but trendy
Elyssa Keelyn- Really dislike this. Elyssa is too close to Alexis and the spelling is just bad!
I have to say I am liking your husband's choices much better. I really don't go for the made up / trendy names.
With Alexis, how about:
Hadley
Tessa or Theresa nn Tessa
Calla
Jade
Piper
Elora
Halle
Bridget
Brynn
Annika
Danica
Layla
Vienna
Sage
Felicia
Aurora/Rory
Brooke
Larissa
Nicola
Faye
Camille
My faves with Alexis Koryn are:
#1) Calla Sage
#2) Halle Brooke
#3) Felicia Brynn
Congrats!
Since he likes more formal/traditional/old fasioned names and you like more modern/trendy names, why don't you compromise by giving her a full name that is traditional and a nickname that is more modern.
For example:
Caroline nn Carly or Carlin
Kathleen nn Kaylee or Kayla
Evelyn nn Evie
I love Annie's suggestions. Here are some more ideas:
Adeline nn Addie
Beatrice nn Trixie or Bea
Althea nn Thea
Annabel nn Belle
Angela/Angelina nn Angie/Ang/Lina
Catherine nn Cady
Margaret nn Greta
Giselle nn Gigi
I like all the girls names on your list and only Sasha from your dh's list.
Avery - this is my niece's name and I really like it but I do think it is popular
Karlyn - I really like this name, I had Carlen on my list awhile back, someone had said it looked made up and I googled it and it's not a made up name, it is German and means 'womanly, strength' or 'tiny and feminine' and it is the feminine version of Karl
Arissa - I like this as well and seen it on several sites before, another suggestion might be Arista
Keelyn - I like this one and I see it isn't made up either
I think Karlyn Alyssa is nice but I think I'd prefer it Carlen.

I'm afraid I may not be of much help, but here are my thoughts with big sister Alexis Koryn.
Your list:
Avery -- I'd avoid another A name
Karlyn -- just looks like a misspelling of the masculine name Carlin
Arissa -- not with Alexis
Keelyn -- as in "keelyn" over in pain? Nope.
His:
Sasha -- since this is a Russian form of Alexandra, and you already have an Alexis, it would seem an odd pairing to me (but I could see you calling Alexis Sasha as a nn, so maybe that's an option for your dh )
Tabitha -- love it. If you want something less common and a bit more unique, you might like Talitha as a compromise (said TAL-i-tha ... just like Tabitha with an L in place of the B). It literally means "little girl," and I actually prefer it to Tabitha myself. ;)
Victoria -- I like it, but it doesn't seem to fit your style as well
Alyssa -- not with Alexis (any spelling)
Kyra -- this seemed a decent compromise for you, since you have some similar names on your list. All of your K names also contain the L sound, however, so maybe Kyla would be a good compromise?
