Aidan, Hayden, Braden, Caden Support Grp

I have a Hayden and I *love* his name! I heard it for the first time in 1998 (on an 80 year old man) and I thought it was very unique. Every year I watched my "unique" name climb the SSA List with dismay. My Hayden was so close to being Reid, Mason, or Nolan because I didn't want him to be lumped in with a larger group of names. But in the end, I just couldn't leave my favorite name on the table and we'll just work with him really early on his enunciation. :)
Anyone else have a Aidan/Hayden/Braden/Caden name they love? I know they get slammed a lot (especially here), but there seem to be quite a few people using these names so surely some of us like them.

Hi there.
There is *nothing* wrong w/Hayden. It's very handsome, classic, & a definite legit name. I like it a lot. It doesn't seem to fit into the trendy catagory like Braden, Jaden, Caden, Zaden, Raden, etc. do imo. Hayden & Aidan are the two that shouldn't be regreted.
I really like the name Claire too as a sister for Hayden, & they're such cuties!
Hi, my name is Beth and I named my son Ayden.
Everybody in unison now ... "Hi Beth!"
LOL
It is tough sometimes on these boards, then I remember that irl people name their children some really awful things. My DH gets so annoyed with my concern over name popularity. I am pg with my 3rd and he wants to name her Emma. I just can't do it!
He was one of a zillion Chris' in school & he says it never bothered him a bit. Kids often want to "fit in". It's the parents that seek the unique. (Well, at least until the teen angst stage, but that happens regardless.)
Beth (Elizabeth Leigh)
DS Ayden Christopher (3/23/02)
DS Owen Thomas (6/23/04)
DD edd 8/27/07 ??Elizabeth "Eliza" Maryn*??? although DH wants Emma, DS#1 wants Giselle because he heard it on a cartoon, and DS#2 wants to name her Ice Cream.
*Maryn is DH's choice for mn, pronounced ma-RINN. He couldn't care less that it's kre8tiv! :)

I don't have kids but I think this is a great idea for a support group.
I have a Hayden, a name I love, but do not think I would have used had I known the -ayden trend. Popularity doesn't bother me, he was almost a William, but the trendiness does. You can read mine and more regrets from this link, someone just asked this question a few days ago.

It does seem that Hayden gets a free pass from people, but it suffers from guilt of association because of all the other ones in the group.
As the mother of a Hayden, does it bother you when people say "Oh, my _______(fill in the blank, son, brother, newphew, or worse neice) is named Jayden, Brayden, Cayden!"
It drives me bonkers, I strongly dislike any of the other names in this group, and I just want to scream, "oh, at least my son's name is real, and has been used for centuries." Is it just me?
As far as the support group, I think it is the parents who will need one. Adults want to stand out from the crowd, but most kids (especially boys) are happy to fit in.
