Are these names getting on your nerves by now?

I like them but they've been around a lot for awhile.

Do they need a rest? Or are they some very nice names?

Your vote is appeciated! Kat ;)

I think they're beautiful and far from out of style. I much prefer them to the "old lady" names that are in vogue-yuck.

I still like them. I like Laurel and Alexa too.

Lauren hasn't been around much for a while. Although I think it's fine to use it, I prefer the more sophisticated Laura or Laurel. Laura makes me think of Petrarch :-)!

I don't really like the name Alexis, but I think it's still fine to use it.

I'm sick of Lauren, but have always loved Alexis. Don't think I can get sick of Lexi. I really like it!!!

I think Lauren is beautiful, Alexis (or Alexa or Lexi or, gag, Alexus) is one of my least favorite names. It has such a "stripper" quality to it.

I see Lauren as "so over" as you put it moreso than Alexis.

most of the Lauren's I know are in the early 20s, that's when that was really really popular. there has been a trickle effect. I think Alexis is the opposite, it was around a little bit back 20-25 years ago, but there seem to be a lot of them age 12 and younger and it's kind of steady as far as numbers.

good luck

I think Lauren, while popular, has become sort of a semi-classic (Laura is a true classic), so I don't think it's "over" and I wouldn't hesitate to use it. Certain names, like Lauren, Allison, Christine, Corinne, etc. may not be "traditional" classics, such as Elizabeth or Kate, but I think they have sort of become classics in that they are popular among all ages and are not particularly tied to a certain decade, and don't have a "flash in the pan" quality.

Alexis is not a favorite of mine. I do LOVE Alexandra, which is much more classic and sophisticated. Maybe it's the "Dynasty" connection, but I think Alexis as an 80s vibe, sort of like Tiffany or Brittany. That does not necessarily bother me, but if "dated" is a concern for you, it may be worth thinking about. But of all the "Alex" names, I really like Alexandra the best!

I think they are nice names-- Alexis isn't really that popular in my area of the Northeast, though Lauren is OVERLY popular.

...see it's hard to say, b/c it's not a CURRENT popular name--meaning, that it's commonly used for just-born babies, but it's still a widely-HEARD name, b/c so many women of other generations have this name. So for me, though having a nice enough sound, Lauren is a little "annoying" already, lol.

Well, best wishes to you!
