Usually I'm not a fan of alliteration, but this name is just one my husband and I love....

Jillian. Our last name is James. Is Jillian James a mouthful? What about Jill James - is that better?

I love the combo Jillian Elise James...too much? Any other suggestions with our last name in this naming style?

Thanks so much!

I think Jillian James is adorable!! Definitely keep it at Jillian, Jill is a little short, but would be good as a nickname.

I agree with the previous posts - Jillian is fine. (Jill is also good as a nn, but I would stick with Jillian for the full name ... I really like it, and I even think it makes you notice the double J's a little less, maybe because it's longer?).

Incidentally, if the two J's still bother you, you could use the Gillian spelling for the same name and avoid the double initials. Just a thought. HTH! :)

I'm not a fan of alliteration either, but I do have this theory that there are certain combos that are just too classy to deny: Jillian James meets my theory!

To me, it's a lot more important to LOVE the combo than to worry about small details. You are especially lucky if you and dh BOTH love it!!!

I vote for Jillian Elise James. And, personally, I wouldn't shorten. Jillian is simply much prettier than Jill, IMO.

Here others in the same "vein" as Jillian, in case you change your mind: Laurel, Raina, Lydia, Fallon, Ferrin, Andrea, Felicity, Kirsten, Ariel, Adrienne

Let us know what you decide! Take care, Ginger

I'm not a big fan of alliteration either, but if you love the name, Jillian James has much better flow to it tha Jill James.

even if she gets called Jill frequently, it's not probably something that she'll write on school papers or get called by like at graduation or anything. I'd definitely go with the longer version, it breaks up the two Js better.

I think Jillian Elise James flows very very well.

good luck
