Okay ladies, I still have not found a name I love :( Driving you crazy yet? I hope not :) I do love double first names. Yes, I know some of you really hate them and are pulling your hair right now :( But, I really like them! My middle name is Ann, so I was thinking of using Ann-something. Can you help me with ideas? Maybe I will find something this go around :) Just a reminder, ds- Preston and surname- Smith. Can't use Ann-Marie.

Thanks a million!!!

Leslie :)

Aw, a double name is very sweet. It does look more visually appealing (and classier) without the hyphen, FWIW. I know you just meant "Ann-" as in "insert second half of double name here," but thought it was worth mentioning. ;)

  • Ann Clara

  • Ann Ruby

  • Ann Gwyneth

  • Ann Louisa

  • Ann Scarlett

  • Ann Charlotte

  • Ann Harper

  • Ann Hadley

  • Ann Carys

  • Ann Felicity

I wasn't sure if you wanted to keep Ann at the front or not, so something like Ruby Ann, Mary Ann, etc. might also work. Branching out to Anna would also give you even more options -- Anna Gwen, Anna Kate, Anna Pearl, etc.

Some of the established "Ann" combination names might also appeal, or even a name

Thanks for your suggestions! I just love Annelise, however Annelise Smith sounds like . . . . GARBAGE!!! :( That is the trouble with all of the names I am coming up with. Ann Elizabeth Smith sounds terrible and I love it! Who knew Smith would be so hard to work with. Man, why do the men not take the womans name. Working with my maiden name would be SO much easier! I like Ann Clara best out of all of your options. What do you think of Ann Lauren or Ann Caroline. I thought a nn for her could be Annie :) Do you like it? I like the Anna and Ann as the second part of the the name also. Any more suggestions there? My best friends daughter is Anna-Kate, so the Anna thing may be a little much. WDYT? Thanks again for all of your help!

I like Ann Cherisse (or Ann Charisse), Ann Sophia, or Ann Elise. I love the previous poster's suggestion of Annora, though - - Annora is one of my very favorite names!

If you like Annelise, but not with your ln, you might also like Annelien (similar to Annelise, but with a LEEN ending that works much better with Smith). ;) Not sure if I mentioned it before, but seems a great option for you.

I do love Ann Clara, btw, and Ann Lauren/Caroline is ok, though the N endings of both names is a bit repetitive. Maybe Ann Laura as an alternative to Lauren?

I don't think I mentioned Juliann(e) or Anna Jane in my previous post either, so I'll throw them out there as well. ;)

I think a lot of the double names would flow better with Anna, so here are my suggestions:

Anna-Kate
Anna-Beth
Anna-Brooke
Anna-Elise
Anna-Molly
Anna-Mary
Anna-Lily
Anna-Claire
Anna-Sofia
Anna-Alexis
Anna-Violet
Anna-Ruth
Anna-Ruby

Ann-Julia
Ann-Olivia
Ann-Sofia
Ann-Miley
Ann-Ruth

Or how about a combo name:
Annabelle
Annelise/Anneliese
Annabeth

Or a flip flop (double fn but Ann as second fn)
Miley-Ann
Julia-Ann
Ruby-Ann
Ruth-Ann
Violet-Ann
Alexis-Ann
Sofia-Ann
Lucy-Ann
Molly-Ann
Mary-Ann
Olivia-Ann
