I like the Annabel spelling much better than Annabelle. Annabelle is too long when it doesn't have to be, plus it might enforce the nickname "Belle" which is clearly spelled in the name and I know you want to avoid it.
I LOVE this name and so does DH...but we've decided to go with Annabella (different version) as a middle name instead. For some reason, I couldn't see myself calling my daughter Annabel all the time and I didn't like Anna as a nn bc it's too plain for me and Belle is too overly used. So, we've ended up with "Lucy Annabella" as the full name.
I picture Annabel to be quiet, creative, beautiful, etc. but it IS hard to picture it on an adult!
annabell is a beautiful name. my husband and i are planning on naming our baby that is due in july annabell. spelled as above. so far we have told lots of people and noone has even thought to call her by a nickname. and plenty of them enjoy talking to my belly. i think if you love the name as much as we have just go for it. besides nicknames usually occure due to the childs preference, i personally chose to go by a nickname long before my parents thought i cared about such things. she will always be annabell to you no matter if people call her anna or peanut. hope your decision comes to you soon.
I have never been fond of the name Annabell, it makes me think of the movie "Annabelle." which is about a cow. However, I LOVE Nora. It was third on my list for my next baby. (due date was five days ago). We decided to go with Millie Grace. It was either: Millie Grace, Grace Elizabeth or Nora Claire.

I like the name Annabelle but I don't think I would name my daughter that. I did however name my little cocker spaniel that and we often call her Annie Bells. Ultimately it is your decision whether or not to choose this name. If you like it use it. As she grows older into adulthood, though, she will probably be called Anne or Annie.
