announcement stories??

Does anyone have a fun/exciting story/idea about how they announced their pregnancy to their families? We have a 2 yr old daughter and recently found out we're expecting again...I'm thrilled to tell family, but would like to tell 'em creatively somehow...and I'm not a terribly creative person. I'd appreciate the ideas!
LOL, Christina

I don't have any personal stories, but I know a couple cute ways from TV and movies!
In Village of the Damned, a woman tells her husband she's pregnant by giving him some stuff that says "Father" on it, or something like that. I can't remember exactly; it's been a while since I saw that movie.
In an episode of the L Word, Tina lets Bette know she's pregnant by setting a third place at the dinner table, and having the positive test stick on the extra plate. I always thought that was cute. :)
First of all, CONGRATS!!
I haven't used this idea, yet, but will when the time comes. I plan on not telling anyone (hopefully including DH) until my first ultrasound. I'd like to see if on the ultrasound the tech can write a little note on the picture that says "Hi Daddy" or "Hi Nana".....etc. I'll get them to do as many as I can. The tech offered to write Hanna's name on her ultrasound when we found out she was a girl, so that's where I got the idea.
I'd like to wrap the pictures in a bracelet box or a tiny box and give it to the grandparents.
HTH and Good Luck!
Ummm...first the "sweet" story. It was my dad's birthday, so we had cake and ice cream with he and my mom and my brother (who was living out of town at the time, but was up for a family wedding.) My brother gave him a card and I told him that I had been working on a gift for him, but it wasn't done yet, that it would be done in time for Mom's birthday and that they had to share. (Okay, he ended up a LITTLE overdue for that, but so what?) Then we told them we had a picture of the work in progress and pulled out the ultrasound. Dad cried, Mom laughed and my brother said "so you finally got knocked up." Perfect family moment...
As for my husband, well...the doctor had told us that we probably couldn't get pregnant without help and we were going into a patch of underemployment so we just put it all on the back burner for a while (actively trying and contraception.) Right around Christmas, my allergies started acting up so I took some Benadryl and things started tasting funny after about a week, so I stopped taking it because I've had that reaction before...but things kept tasting funny. So I took a test while Matt was at work and it was positive. I took a second one when I got home from my half shift at work (they were sold out of the sale ones at one drug store so I went to a second one to get them--can you believe they actually asked me if I wanted a rain check at the first one? Do pregnancy tests really seem like something you'd want a rain check for?????) and I swear the test strip turned pink before the control strip did. I had to wait an hour before Matt got home and I was going to do this cute thing of going out to eat at a place where they had bellini's and when they asked if I wanted one, I was going to say "no, I can't, I'm pregnant" and knock Matt's socks off...but I couldn't be that coy. Instead, when he got home, I asked him if he thought we'd been having too much sex. (Hey, we weren't working much...we had a lot of time on our hands!) He said "no." I said, "you know, there are side effects to sex." He said "like what?" I said "like that funny taste in my mouth." (Which at this moment I realize sounds rather obscene.) And he said "oh...oh...oh, my. Are you?" "We're pregnant." And we went out and he had a bellini. I had water. And the muzak at the restaurant played "Lullaby of Broadway." It was really surreal. (Maybe I'll be more collected and manage the alcohol trick next time when I'm not scared out of my wits.)
