Another question about rhyming

Our last name is Bertel (pronounced Bur-TELL) and unfortunately some of the names I like seem to rhyme, although my husband disagrees and does not see this as a problem. The names are Annabel and Gabrielle. What are other people's thoughts? Do these names sound silly with our last name?

Yes, I would avoid any name ending in -elle. It doesn't rhyme exactly, but it is matchy and sounds a bit off. Here are some names similar to Annabelle and Gabrielle that you may like:

Fiona

Samantha

Claudia

Lorelei

Ashlyn

Bronwen

Felicity

Daniella (this has a similar -elle sound, but works since it ends in an a)

Aurelia

Bethany

Sara

Angela

Meredith

Violet

I agree with Nikki. These names do seem to rhyme with your last name; I would not use them.

I don't like the rhyming but I think Annabella Bertel or Gabriella Bertel sound good.

I wouldn't do it. The rhyming endings and prominent B sounds in both names do make them sound a bit silly. Maybe you could find some names with similar qualities? Like Anneliese or Anna Claire as a double name (rather than Annabel).
