Hello everyone! My DH and I are TTC #1 (we have been trying for over a year). We were discussing names again the other night and are stumped on a name. We really like the name Shelby for a girl but have decided we like it better for a middle name. Does anyone have any suggestions on a first name for Shelby. Our last name starts with a "L" and is two syllables. I would appreciate any suggestions. FYI..we have picked Connor Francis for a boy. Thanks in advance!!!

One of DH's favorite cars is the Shelby Mustang. That is how the name originally was brought into our discussion. I really like but the more I think about it the more unsure I become. So the other night I mentioned using it as a middle name instead. He agreed if I could come up with a first name that sounded good with it and our last name. So far I am having no luck. Oh well, I guess I am getting way ahead of myself since I not even pg yet. Thanks for all your help!!
PS We have to use the name because DH bought her a model Shelby Mustang car already. It says shelby on the motor and he says we can put it in her room when she comes home! I about cried!!!!
sorry about the cl hat, I was lurking and needed to post...
One of my closest friends had Nolan picked out forever (before she met her now hubby and dad to her son)
So her first born is Nolan Lyon... SO similar to baseball player Nolan Ryan, and his middle initial is H, making his initials NHL... He is a sporty baby, LOL, and dad is a huge sports nut...
But what I am getting at is it doesn't matter, it is a great name with a great reason for picking it that will help your DH feel connected!
Thanks again and Congratulations on your baby girl!!
Shelby and Lincoln are both kinds of cars.
As for being teased about it though, I don't think that'd be a problem. I'm not sure how many people know about Shelby Mustangs, or would associate Lincoln automatically with the car, since...obviously...the presidential association is much more prevalent. I think she'd be teased more about being named after the car, rather than kids making the car association on their own, but I doubt if she knew she was named after a car, that she would go out of her way to tell people about it.
