Just wondering if anyone here has any regrets about the names they have given there children. Whether it be the way a name is spelled or the name itself. Anything at all.

My first name is Janel...just spelled differently. I still don't know why they spelled my name this way. I've ran across a few in my lifetime but none under the age of 15. I'm 29 right now and most have been around this age.

Hmmm... regrets, I could think of a few.

Donald Lee W Jr. (age 12) - I've always disliked the name Donald, he goes by Lee. His bio-dad is a deadbeat, looking into DH adopting and chaning his name to Lee something, with new last name. Possible Lee Douglas (after brother and my dad middle names) or if Lee wants to Lee W- New last name.

Bradley James W. (10) - ex only would agree to Chad or Brad. James is my dad's first name. I always liked Chad with the nn CJ, but went with Bradley because I thought Chadwick/Chadrick didn't sound great with James. Sometimes I wish I went with Chad since now I have 2 son's close in age with the "Lee/Ley" in their names. Babies always mixing their names up.

Agustin Clark R. (2.5) - no regrets at all, Agustin is after DH and FIL. Goes by Trey (unoffically the 3rd) Can go by Augie or AC later if he wanted to. Only annoying issue is peole mispronouncing Agustin all the time (Is prnounced like Augustine)

Janina Isabella R. (18 months) - Love her name. Love that Janina fits naming her after 4 grandma's. I like the look of the way I spelled Isabella as I think it looks pretty, but have since found out it is the Italian spelling not the spanish spelling. Spanish spelling would be Isabela. I think I would have considered spelling it Isabela if I had known there was a difference. People still mispronounce Janina as Jane-ina instaead of Ja-Nina but I just correct them :-)

I have a Molly Elisabeth! I love the Molly part and would not change that. She is a spunky girl and Molly suits her. I love the spelling we used for her MN but I'm still not 100% thrilled with the combo (the long E ending Molly and starting Elisabeth) But hey, she was several weeks early so we chose the name on the exit ramp to the hospital and she was here within the hour! I had wanted Katherine but our last name starts with K and I didn't like that flow either. I chose Molly so I let DH choose the MN.

My other DD is Brenna Rose and I would never change that. I get more comments that it is elegant and she is a girly girl princess. It fits her perfectly and is unique without being unrecognizable.

Hmm.. good post!

Audrey Thomasina - My eldest daughter is 7 and I love her name. Audrey is a name I have always loved and Thomasina is after my brother who died at the age of 5. Sometimes Audrey doesn't want to tell people her middle name because it's so unusual but I don't regret it one bit!

Eloise Clara Margaret - She is 5 and is called Eloise mostly but sometimes Ellie or Elle. Clara is my mother's name and Margaret is my husbands mother's name. I picked Eloise because I thought it sounded cute and spunky but elegant at the same time. The only thing I regret about this name is that Ella and Ellie are so popular now and I don't want her name mixed up with those.

Peter Olivier - He is 3 and named after my husbands father and Olivier after my maiden name. He is called Peter and NEVER Pete. Some of my friends were horrified at Peter because it's slang for you know what... I love the name though, and it was important to my husband. I might regret it later on down the road if he's teased for it, but not now.

Sarah Beatrice - Sarah is Peter's twin and called Sallie and only Sallie. It was the only way I would agree to name her Sarah. Sarah is my husbands favorite name, and Beatrice is some ancient relative of his, but I like it. I adore the nickname Sallie, but I still don't have great feelings towards Sarah. I kind of regret naming her something I'm not crazy about.. but oh well.

None so far, my DD is Adriana Sophia Hernandez. I still love the way her name rolls off off the tounge, especially when said with the proper spanish accent. Adriana was named by her father, her name is a conjunction of my name (Ryann) and her Grandmother (Adania). And I just love Sophia. I think its a proper, femenine name. My DS, Adriana's twin is Gabriel Luis H. I love his name also, he was named after his Grandfather and uncle. I'm looking forward to baby #3, the names are already picked.

Georgie,

I just had to tell you, I absolutely love all four of your kids' names!!!!!! I prefer Eloise & Sarah over Ellie/Sallie NNs but I am sure they suit your girls perfectly.

Audrey is on our short short list for a possible future DD #3, and Peter is one of my favorite boys' names...it's great to hear that it doesn't HAVE to be shortened to Pete, because I really prefer the full name of Peter.
