I was reading a scrapbooking message board today and someone wrote "Keeping up with the JANES'" (since its mainly women board) I thought- hey, they meant to write JONES'! Then I thought- Jones. That might be a cool names. Has anyone ever heard of anyone named Jones, and what are your opinions on it? Not Joan, female. Would you consider Jones a boy or girl name? What do you think of when you hear that name?

Sorry - When I hear "Jones" I think of "jonesing." That means the going through the symptoms of withdrawl from an addicted substance.

I think of a boy (like when the last name is Jones and friend's might call him "Jonesey". Kind of cute (and I guess it would be fine for a grown man, too).

I definetely think it's a boy name, not a girl name. I've never heard of anyone with the name, but I think it's a pretty cool name.

I live in the Deep South and we are KNOWN for using surnames/mom's maiden name for first names on boys and girls. Examples- I know girls name Glover, Bembry, Tildon, Gentry & boys named Curry, Cason, Woodruff, Wilson, Turner, Walker, Cook, Gray, Coley, etc.

I know two Jones. They are both male (age 74, 30-ish). It's more masculine to me, but maybe that's b/c the two I know are male. I think it's a neat name. Good luck, Ginger

I think of the last names Jones and I hope to stays that way.

I personally think that would not be good last-name-turned-first name like a lot of others have worked out to be.
