Is Anyone Like Me?

DH and I have a hard time thinking of girl names, but we have always liked Benjamin for a boy. We know that the name is our *IT* name (regardless of popularity ... we don't know anyone with the name Ben or anyone's sons named Ben) for our first boy. We are TTC now.
Is anyone else like me? Do you already have a name or names picked out before or during TTC? DH says sometimes he feels like he missed out on the "baby naming process" because we already found our IT name and are not even PG yet. But...I can't imagine my son (if that's what we wound up having) named anything different -- and neither can he.
Is it that big of a deal to name a child that is not conceived yet? Are we weird?

Before we TTC my dd we had both a boy and girl name picked out mn and all. Now we still have the boy name but I cannot find a girl name that I love as much as my dd's. We are not ttc and won't be for awhile so I guess I have time.

I'm someone who studies names for years, but doesn't settle on a name until close to giving birth. I think my method and your method are both normal...or maybe we're both weird!
I sounds like you and your hubby get to experience the "best of both worlds." You have the satisfaction of knowing your IT name for a son and the fun of the baby naming process for a daughter. :)
We did the same thing with our son. We just knew his name would be Grant. It was a very odd feeling. I can't even remember picking it out. I just knew that was his name.
To make you feel better, we had a very hard time picking out our daughters name. We couldn't decide up until the very very end, so it was a relief to just know with Grant.
First off I love the name Benjamin! I'd name my son that in a heartbeat but I cannot stand the NN Ben. Its just personal prefrence, its a great name.
Back to the subject. No you are not weird or alone. My fiance and I have pretty much named all our kids. We have one name for each set that are set in stone. The others change every once in awhile. We just don't feel the same "it" feelings we do for the others.
