Anyone start to "dislike" their fav name

Okay, so I have been posting on this web site for the last several months how much I love the name Lorelei. Lately, I've been really focused on trying to find a middle name to along with it. Well, just recently I've started to develop negative feelings toward the name. It's not that I dislike it, it's just that I feel I've been talking about it so much, that I'm getting sick of it. Does this mean I shouldn't use the name or should I just lay off it for awhile and come back to it later? I recall doing this with other names in the past. I would get so consumed with one name, and then eventually I would get sick of it. What's wrong with me??? Am I going to feel this way when I name my baby girl? Am I eventually going to get tired of whatever name I choose? Has anyone else run into this problem before?

Oh my gosh, the same thing is happening to me and I am getting soooooooooo discouraged. We want to feel great about the name we pick, right? I just keep imagining though if I picked something else. I would always kick myself for having given up on the name that really stuck in my heart for months. Just imagine another name that you like. Would you be sad you never used Lorelei?
Yes, we are getting sick of it but maybe in the end it really is that we are thinking too much about it. If it still sticks I would say go for it. Leave it for awhile and see how that goes.
My husband and I picked London bcs we absolutely loved it. It stuck in our hearts for months. Then we got a lot of negative feedback on it from the crowd which discouraged us. But, it still stuck in our hearts. We found other names but they just didn't ever hit the heart like London did. Thinking and talking about it so much we got sick of it. But, it still stuck more than anything else. So, we are going for it. Plus, with a middle name (or two in our case) the child will always have the choice to choose which one he likes.
Good luck. Stick with it if you love it. You might kick yourself more in the future for having given up on it.
Do as we are maybe...bring a few names you like just in case you see your baby and change your mind. Some things might fit better in person.
good luck

due in 10 days!!!
I agree with Carey, leave it for awhile and come back to it in a few weeks and see how you feel. The whole names thing is easy to become obsessed about.
I think once you name your child and she is in your life every day the chances are extremely slim that you would be sick of the name. You'll probably find you love it more and more as time goes by because it belongs to the little person you love so much.
I agree with the pp, shes right once you name your child that it will be less likely that you will get bored with it simply b/c it won't be "just a name" it will be your childs name.
