Are Lindsey and Kristina too '80s? (m)

I'm an "older" mom in my 40's and I love the names but I don't want my dd to feel dated or out-of-it. What do you younger moms think? Or older moms? It's not all that important to me to be hip, in fact I like more classic names but my other kids (teenagers) are balking a bit at these names.

I thought Lauren was a bit past it's prime, too but it's still in the top 20. I just don't like the "Loren" pronunciation that seems predominant where I live. I knew an old man with lots of nose hair whose name was Loren when I was growing up. Can't seem to shake that image.

I'd like her to have a nice common but not too trendy name. Sisters are Heather, Melissa, Caroline and Jenna. What "goes" with these?

Can't use Annie, Mindy, Alison, Emily, Emma, Ashley, Natalie, Catherine, Sarah, Katie, Amy, Michelle, Kate, Elizabeth or Rachel. Our last name starts with McMa...

We are stuck in a big way!!

So what if they're 80's or 90's??!! I like Michelle!

Kristina's a classic I think and it would be nice to use Lindsey since there aren't too many.

I like both Lindsey and Kristina! I don't think of either one as "too 80's".

Congrats on the little one,

Anyways what about spelling Lindsey like Lynsey, Linsey, something more unique. Or Kirsten. You have lovely names for other girls, three are more classic one more trendy (jenna)

Other not to trendy but pretty names I like are

Laurel, Madelyn, Alexis, Alyssa, Alycia, Emma, (ok that's popular, lol)

Hi Aislinn'

I just wanted to say I think you have a fabulous name. Anyways I was just looking at you adorable kids and was wondering how you pronounce Aine's name? Do you know what you are having yet? What are your name pics. I love Maire's name too :)

I really love Lindsey. I don't think of it as just an 80s name although maybe that's when it peaked. It would be nice to use now because it is not overdone like the current millennium names of Emma, Emily, Ava, Olivia and Sophia! Lindsey is just very pretty and feminine. Kristina is more classic. Very pretty although I still prefer Lindsey. Good luck!! :)

I think Lindsey was very popular in the 80s but it is a classic name. Kristina is common for all ages.

I love both names although I do prefer them spelled Christina and Lindsay. I usually like Christina more but lately I've really been into Lindsay. I think both names would fit well with your other girl's names.

Congratulations! Here you have 5 girls already and I am just wishing for one! :o)

Both Lindsey & Kristina will fit with their siblings very well.

While both names are 80's, I really like them both.

I really like both names, and I think they "fit" with your other girls. I definitely like Kristina with a "K" -- either spelling, though, it's a very international and classic name. I like nn Kris or Krissy. I also liked the suggestion of Kirsten as an alternative.

Lindsey is very pretty, too, and I actually don't think it's dated. It comes up a lot on the board, and I know someone who has an 18 month old named Summer who was almost a Lindsey.

I think you can't go wrong with either one, so it's just your personal preference (for example, is it important for you that your daughter have a name that is formal, and can be shortened to a nn?).

Other suggestions that I think would "go" (but I don't think any of them are better than Lindsey or Kristina):

Alexandra

Amanda

Bridget

Brooke

Danielle

Jillian

Mallory

Megan

Meredith

Paige

Rebecca

Samantha

Shanna/Shannen

Victoria

Good luck!
