hi all. thanks for your comments about my new daughter's name. i'm still unsure. i do agree that avery sounds better with spina. i still do like ava so much. i don't like avrianne too much, i must admit. sometimes we call alexandra lexie and i think avery sounds cute with that. i will have to give it more thought....i have 18 weeks to go! lol

I'm not sure if it was your post I replied to (or if I even typed it or just thought it LOL), but if I were you I'd just use both. I've seen a LOT of people who are considering Avery for their daughters and will be using the shortened form Ava as a nn for it. After all, the Ave/Ava sound is right there at the beginning of the name! ;) Some have even changed the spelling to Avary/Avarie etc., but I don't think that's necessary. I'd stick with Avery (especially since it sounds best with your ln and really cute with your other daughter's name) and use the nn Ava (so really, you can use them both equally). Win/win situation. :)

I love the name Avery - it's my daughter's name. :-)
We don't shorten it. I've heard a few people call her Av though.
