baby #2

I've been lurking here for awhile and would like your opinions on what we plan to name baby #2 due in August. Our first child is named Bridget Nicole. I had loved the name Bridget for years, luckily dh liked it too! We don't know the sex of this baby so have names for both. For a girl, we are thinking of Charlotte Jane (my dh suggested this name which is amazing since he hates discussing baby names) and for a boy, we like either Ian Richard or Luke Neal.
What are your thoughts, suggestions?
Thank you.

Hi there. Congrats on #2!
Bridget is a wonderful name. Good work!
I like Charlotte Jane. It's a sweet combination, & actually has the same feel as Bridget. I'm just wondering if they're too close. Maybe not?
Ian & Luke are both excellent choices. I love Luke just a tad more, but Ian seems to match w/Bridget better.

I really love all your choices and they go wonderfully with Bridget. I think for a boy I prefer Luke over Ian, although I do love both names. Just because visually, to me, they look better as Luke is more letters so next to Bridget it jsut seems to look nicer. In style, they both go well.
Do any of the mn's have any meaning to you?

Thanks for all your responses. Many of the suggested names (especially girls) are ones from our original list - I just can't sway dh from Charlotte (I like the name too - my grandpa named Charles passed away about a week after dh chose this name so that's its significance). Jane has no meaning for us - it just seems to go well with Charlotte. Luke and Ian are names we both like - solidly male, I think/hope. I have some positive association with the name Ian but we are having a hard time choosing between the two. Luke does seem a bit more popular than Ian, am I right? Richard is my dad's name and Neal is my maiden name.
Thanks again.
I think that if you like both Luke & Ian equally, you could always take them both to the hospital & see which one the little guy (assuming it's a little guy!) looks like.
As far as popularity goes, Luke is a bit more popular according to the SSA charts. I personally know one little Luke, & two big ones. I know 8 little Ians, & 3 big ones. Strange!
Anyway, they're both great names, & you can't go wrong!
I love Bridget Nicole and I think Charlotte Jane is a great name for her sister, esp. when it has family significance for you.
I like both Luke Neal and Ian Richard and they both work with Bridget.

Congrats on the new little one! I love the name Bridget, BTW, it is on my girls list! It is spunky, uncommon, and pretty. I think Charlotte Jane is great. FWIW, I would avoid using a third name ending in "T" if you end up with more children in the future to avoid being too matchy/ cutesy. Another name I like as a sister to Bridget is Kiersten. I see them having the same "feel".
You might also like: Nora, Caitlin, Isla, Neve, Maeve, Caroline, Ainsley
As for a boy name, I much prefer Ian Richard over Luke Neal. I think Ian is a great name overall, and goes well with Richard. Luke, IMO, is getting too common/ plain, and doesn't go as well with Bridget. I also don't like the choppiness of Luke Neal, as they are both 1 syllable. Luke Richard or something like Luke Nelson/ Nealson, etc. would be better to me.
Other boy names you might like: Colin, Graham, Owen, Garrett, Trevor, Sean, Liam, Shane
Good luck and HTH!

Thanks belle_petite for the siggy!
