Looks like baby #5 is on the way & I could use some help. First 4 are Eleanor Katherine(nn Ella), Joseph Patrick(nn Joe), Henry Thomas, & Lucy Elizabeth. All have family middle names, except Joseph who's fn is after his great-grandfather. We did not plan it but both girls names mean light(which I really liked after I found out) and both are names from Beatles songs...not done on purpose. Also not planned was that there is one less letter in each kids name 7,6,5 & 4. We like very traditonal, more Brittish names. Here's my quandry...do we pick a name with just 3 letters this time? I do love Leo & Eva & have short listed both before. If it's a girl & her name does not mean light, or some form of light AND is not from a Beatles song will she feel left out? Am I the only one who will obsess over this...LOL! Any suggestons welcome. Some combos I like
Eva Florence
Frances Josephine
Virginia Rose
Beatrice Inez
Violet
Cordelia
Leah Florence
Amelia Florence
Leo Xavier
Simon James
Silas James
Edmond LeRoy
Miles Xavier
Franklin LeRoy

I don't think that its important that her name means light or, even less important, is from a Beatles song.
Eva Florence- Pretty, but not stunning
Frances Josephine- Okay, a bit frumpy
Virginia Rose- Pretty
Beatrice Inez- Pretty
Violet- Pretty, but growing quickly in popularity. Maybe Viola instead?
Cordelia - LOVE it, so spunky and uncommon, check out this thread on it: http://messageboards.ivillage.com/n/mb/message.asp?webtag=iv-psbabynames&msg=33285.1&ctx=0
Leah Florence- Very nice and classy
Amelia Florence - growing really quickly in popularity
Leo Xavier- LOVE this. Just love it- so handsome
Simon James- Really like it, Simon is one of my faves, but James is such a common mn
Silas James- Love this, very uncommon. Love that about it
Edmond LeRoy- This is okay, I prefer Edwin
Miles Xavier- Love this, especially with nn Milo
Franklin LeRoy- Adorable, very spunky
You have WONDERFUL taste!

Hi!
We are expecting our 5th child too and going through the process of picking a name. It's been challenging!
I had to chuckle when I read your concerns about the names. I'm so the same way! Personally, though, I don't think the Beatles' connection should even be a concern. The meaning of the names is not too significant either. Although, I believe the name "Helen" and all its derivitives means "light." One name we tossed around for awhile was "Helena."
My first daughter is Clara, and her name means "clear and bright." Maybe you could look for a name that has some connection to light.
I do think it's neat that your kids' names decrease in the number of letters. A classic, older name with three letters would be cute. My third daughter is "Eva" and we just love that name. More often than not we call her "Evie" too. My 2nd daughter's middle name is Mae. That's a name I don't hear very often as a first name, but when I do it sounds so sweet and pretty. You could also think of a name that has a nickname with three letters--ex. Samuel--Sam; Evangeline--Eva; Amelia--Mia; etc.
Leo is a wonderful name for your boy! Very handsome, not overused. I also like Simon and Silas too.
You definitely have some wonderful ideas already! Congrats on your 5th, and good luck with the baby names!

Leo

Silas
Miles
I have a Leo and it has worked out great, wouldn't change it.
Unless you regularly talk about how your other daughters' names mean "light" and are in Beatles' songs, it will not be an issue, so unless that is what you do, I think you are the only one who will obsess about it. That said, if it is going to bother you, that's reason enough to at least look for another light-related name that's in a Beatles song. I'm not sure you'll find one, but you could start with http://www.yeahbaby.com/meaning-of-names.php?id=light&page=all-1. It's a web page devoted to baby names that mean "light."
I really like the names you've listed, though, and in your place, I wouldn't spend another minute thinking about light or the Beatles; I'd pick one of the listed names, probably Violet or Leo.
