We really need some help with a baby girl name. I'm not due until July but would love to agree on something before then. I like names like Isabella, Michaelyn, Brynn and he likes names like Jade, Alexis. He thinks she is going to be a tomboy so he says my names are to frilly! Sounds silly, huh? Any ideas, especially unique ones, would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

Interestingly, I see your names as being the same "trendy" style (not saying that's a bad thing), but a couple of yours do have a bit more "frill." For the record, I think that Alexis and Jade are girlier than Brynn, but that's JMO.

What about some names that are girly, but have boyish nicknames? You could use the full name or a girly nn, and he could have his own special daddy nn for her.

Alexandra (nn Alex)
Samantha (nn Sam/Sami)
Michaela (nn Mickey/Mick)
Jada (nn Jade)

A few other ideas...
Megan/Meghan, nn Meg
Mallory
Gabrielle, nn Gabby/Brie/Elle
Josephine, nn Jo/Joey/Josie
Joelle/Joella, nn Joey/Jo
Caroline, nn Carly
Kelsey
Mackenzie, nn Mac
Raegan/Regan, nn Rae
Avery, nn Ava
Riley/Rylee

Good luck making a decision!

HELLO, I'M EXPECTING IN AUGUST. I KNOW HOW IT FEELS NOT KNOWING WHAT TO NAME YOUR NEW BABY. ESPECIALLY A GIRL-THERE ARE SO MANY NAMES!! HOWEVER, ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS NAMED HER LITTLE GIRL AVERY. I LOVE THAT NAME & THOUGHT I WOULD SHARE IT WITH YOU. IT'S NOT TOO FRILLY OR TOM BOYISH

I say compromise. Name her Charlotte. That way if she's 'girly' it can stay Charlotte. and if she's a tomboy she can use then nn Charlie.

Michaelyn sounds too made up, how about Micah.

My daughter is a tomboy and her middle name is Isabella.

I had a classmate in Highschool named Michelin. She was French. Only problem: the Michelin Tire Man -- although she had a great Halloween costume every year -- the motto "everyone rides on Michelin" ran rapid through our HS.

Alexa might be a good blend of his alexis and your more feminine names....
Stella also seems feminine yet spunky. Others:
Riley (probably more his type), Reese.
Good luck, aj
