I'm due in 1 week and can't decide on a middle name.

The 1st name is Brooke.

I'm one for whom family names usually trump other names; for me it usually plays out in our kids' middle names. So I'd go with Brooke Stephanie if I were you. Our baby, if it's a girl, will be named Dagny Annette -- Annette being my dh's sister who passed away three years ago. I *like* the sound of other names better, with Dagny, but we want to honor this dear gal.

What's your mom's middle and maiden name? What's your maiden name? Would any of these work? These would also honor your mom.

HTH!

I like the way Brooke Stephanie sounds better and I like it better for you since it honors your mom.

it'd be nice to name the baby for your mom, but Brooke Stephanie just doesn't have a very good flow to it - the reason for that is that the accent is on the Steph syllable of Stephanie - it's too hard sounds together - you need a middle name for the 1-syllable Brooke where the accent is on either the 2nd or 3rd syllable
