I have been thinking of baby names and I have fallen in love with the name Miley and I wanted to know anybody's opinion on it.

It's not my style (I tend to go for traditional names like Elizabeth) but I think it's really cute.

I think it is cute - i would maybe use a more formal name and use it as a nn - because i can't picture a business woman with the name and having a formal name would give her options. I do like it a lot though...

Actually, the name Mylie (pronounced the same as Miley) is a family surname - which is a real last name, but in our case was basically "made up" in the 1940s to replace a VERY Italian sounding surname and avoid prejudice. So to me, the name will always sound like a last name and have many family connotations.

Of course, that is just me. It is cute as a first name, a la Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana). I agree it's a little cutesy, but it could be a nickname for something a little more formal sounding. Camille? Millicent? Milagros? Amelia? Mila?

For me, it's very trendy/ cutesy, but it's not horrible (just don't spell it Mileigh or something please). My first association is also Hannah Montana actress Miley Cyrus.

Thank you for your opinion. It means a lot to me. I fell in love with the name when I heard it on hannah montana but it has nothing to do with her I just loved it. Thank you again:)

With a DD named Emily, I'd really think hard about Miley. They are very similar, even if the "I" is pronounced differently. Like pp suggested, a more formal name with nn Miley wouldn't be as similar. Just something to consider!
