Is it possible to name my daughter Shiloh without everyone thinking I copied Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, who used the name for their daughter two years ago?

In a world where we are trying to give our children names that are unique in some way and where everyone is obssessed with celebrities, it seems no matter WHAT you pick, there's going to be a pop-culture reference in there somewhere. Any time you introduce your child's name to someone, they are going to try and find the association behind it. There are AT LEAST three separate historical associations for Shiloh, none of which have anything to do with Brangelina's brood. Maybe 4 different people will make 4 different assumptions on the association... in ALL of the instances, you are going to have to correct them. Do not fret about others opinions, those that assume you would name your child after a celebrities kid probably don't know you well enough for you to care what their opinion is anyhow.

People may well assume you chose it because of Brangelina, but in cases like this...it's what you know. You know that you chose the name to love it, not to copy it. Even if you chose it because you first heard it there...hey, it's not like you're getting a "Billy Bob" tattoo, too...

i wouldnt worry about it.. you already love Shiloh, give the name you love.

and remember Brangelina mania will simmer down to the background, and most ppl wont remember what their kids names are.. remmeber Bruce Willis & Demi Moore, they were all over the tabloids, etc then faded away...
