Baby names are changing faster than ever, influenced by celebrities and pop culture, ancient cultures and modern catastrophes. The major trends for 2013 draw from the names of Roman gods and the wilder side of nature, tap new international name sources and include a surprising taste for secrecy.

Here are Nameberry’s predictions for baby names in 2013.

I'm really loving some of these trends!  What do you think of them?  Any of them on your list of names to be considered?

Interesting...apparently we were a little ahead of trend in giving Whit a three-syllable W first name, a three-syllable first middle, and North as a third...oy!

Im not sure if my link is right, I expected an article but only got a little list of popular names. DH and I ALWAYS keep an eye on naming trends as what to avoid. We don't want to have one of seven Emily's in a class for instance. I am mourning Maya as a definite no now if we have a girl. We are playing with Lydia and Hannah at the moment for a girl. DD1 is Kassandra. For a boy we like Thomas (definitely Tom or Tommy unless he's in trouble lol) although Matthias is on the radar too.
