I like both names as well, so maybe listing pros and cons for each would help you. For example, Avery is unisex, while Ava is not, if that's a concern at all. Also, Avery is a syllable longer than Ava (so one might sound better with your ln than the other).

Another idea is to use both! :) I've seen many people who are considering/using Avery for a girl using the shortened form Ava as a nn for it! Some have even altered the spelling to make this more "acceptable" ... Avary, Avarie, etc. I don't think that's necessary but it is an option. Since the two are so similar and you probably wouldn't use them for two sisters (Ava AND Avery) I think I would go with Avery, whatever spelling, for the full name and give her the Ava nn option. ;) No tough decisions required! :)

While I like Ava better, I think Avery goes better w/ your ln.

I like Ava a lot better than Avery. However, Avery sounds better with you last name. But, if I were you, I would go with Ava because I like it better, not because of how it sounds with your last name. Hope I could help.

Definetly Ava. It sounds beautiful with Alexandra, they are so perfect together. I love Avery as well, but I really like it on a boy. Ava is extremely feminine, like Alexandra.
