So...as you all probably know I am asking your opinion on my top possible names for this upcoming little one! I am due in mid to late January and already have DH and I already have one child. Her name is Olivia Joyce, she's 19 months old. The name we had picked out if dd#1 was a boy was Colin Patrick/Colin Shane, but...maybe we've changed our top pick, haven't decided yet. We both really still like Colin, but we like other names too. We don't know, and we don't know how other people would react either, which brings us here. LoL. So..anyways...here's our top lists:
GIRLS: Molly mn Clarice/Clarisse
Gwendolyn mn Julianna
Cassidy mn ??
BOYS: Colin mn Patrick/Shane
Clint mn Robert/Richard<--(my grandpa's name)
We just don't know! Thanks for everything!!!!
Meg & Jon
Olivia Joyce && #2 Bundle of Joy

Olivia Joyce is a beautiful name, and you've got some great options here. Here are my thoughts:
GIRLS:
Molly mn Clarice/Clarisse -- I love Molly. Really, really love it. My only concern (and the reason it's not on my list personally) is that I think it's too "cute" for a grown up. I'd rather use it as a nickname for a more grown-up/professional name (like Margaret) so she has an option of using something else for her resume, diploma, etc that doesn't sound so cute. I really like the paring of Molly Clarice. I think it's very pretty.
Gwendolyn mn Julianna -- I love Gwendolyn and like Julianna. Julianna is just a bit frilly for my taste, I'd prefer Julia or Anna on its own. And I think I wouldn't mind Julianna as much if it was paired with something simple (like Mary Julianna or Julianna Elise) but paired with Gwendolyn, which is also long and a bit frilly, it's just too much for my taste. I'd really like Gwendolyn Clarice or Julianna Clarice.
Cassidy -- I don't like Cassidy at all. I think it's very passe and dated. (Very mid-90s with the whole fake-cowboy craze: Cassidy, Cody, Dakota, Cheyenne, etc) Your other choices are all pretty classic names (like Olivia) and this one sticks out because it sounds very trendy. I'd suggest Cassandra instead. It has a similar sound, but a much stronger history and it's not dated the way Cassidy is. Cassandra Molly is a very pretty combination.
BOYS:
Colin mn Patrick/Shane -- I love all three of these names. Patrick is in my top 3. Either of these combinations would be fantastic.
Clint mn Robert/Richard<--(my grandpa's name)-- I really love Clint. It has a rugged southern feel to it that I really like. I'd prefer it as a nickname for Clinton though. I think it's a bit abrupt on it's own and doesn't flow as well. I'm not a huge fan of Robert or Richard, but I love the idea of using family names, so I would definitely like to see you use Richard. Clinton Richard sounds wonderful.
With Olivia Joyce...
GIRLS:
Molly Clarice/Clarisse: Molly and Olivia go wonderfully together, I really like that. Although for some reason Clarice looks awfully masculine to me. Does it have family significance? I always think that family mn's are the best way to go, whether it is to honour someone you love or just going back into your family tree and picking a nice name... it give the name a story
Gwendolyn Julianna- I prefer Gwyneth or just Gwen, Gwendolyn seems like a bit much, although its certainly not horrible by any means. I love Julianna and actually really prefer that as a fn.
Cassidy- Cassidy is cute, especially with nn Cassie. That goes well with Olivia. I do prefer the more feminine sounding Cassandra.
Some ideas that go nicely with Olivia:
Teresa nn Tessa
Chloe
Sophie
Brooke
Amber
Lila
Gretchen
Fiona
Gertrude/Gertie
Delilah
Brea
Audrey
Charlotte
Emily
BOYS:
Colin Patrick/Shane- LOVE it... both mn's are nice, although I do prefer a family mn. Olivia and Colin are wonderful together though
Clint Robert/Richard<--(my grandpa's name)- Okay... I have never been a huge fan of Clint though. I used to know a Clint who always was teased by his name and called "clit" (hope this doesn't offend anyone- just to make her aware! I think especially with mn Richard "Dick" it's a bit too much.
Suggestions:
Wesley
Eric
Jack
Grant
Truman
Beckett/Beck
Rhett/Everett
Thomas
Simon
Cole
Asher/Ashton
Theodore/Theo
James/Jem/Jamie

Molly Clarice - This is very pretty and goes well with Olivia Joyce.
Gwendolyn Julianna - Too long and frilly for my taste. I like Julia Gwenneth
Cassidy - Too masculine with Olivia. Cassandra is very pretty. Cassandra Gwen, Cassandra Megan.
I also like Clarice, Julia or Anna as first names with Olivia.
Anna Clarice
Julia Claire
Clarice Margaret
BOYS:
Colin Patrick/Shane - Colin Patrick is nice. Colin Shane doesn't flow as well, but I do like Shane. Maybe Shane Richard, Shane Connor or Shane Patrick.
Clint Robert/Richard - Clint Richard or Clinton Robert are both nice.
Also like Craig, Clayton or Corbin for you.
Girls:
Molly mn Clarice/Clarisse - I love Molly! I would go the Clarice spelling. Molly and Colin would be a great pair.
Gwendolyn mn Julianna - this seems to be too much, I hope your last name is short :)
Cassidy mn ?? - I am not a big Cassidy fan. What about Caroline, nn Caddy? I really like Caroline Belle.
Boys:
I really like the pp suggestion of Clinton, nn Clint - I think that would be great. Also, I prefer Collin to Colin.
Suggestions:
Margaret Blythe, nn Maisie or Maggie
Sarah Clarice
Felicity Anne
I vote for Collin Richard (in honor of your grandpa) and Gwendolyn. I'm not crazy about Julianna with it (seems like too much name to me). I'd vote for a more tailored mn with Gwendolyn:
Gwendolyn Hope (my 2nd fav)
Gwendolyn Marie
Gwendolyn Anne
Gwendolyn Elise (my fav)
Gwendolyn Claire
Gwendolyn Paige
GIRLS:
Molly mn Clarice/Clarisse -- Molly is adorable as a nn, but I'd give her a more mature option for when she grows up. Mary Clarice or Margaret Clarice, nn Molly, would be great (and technically, Margaret would be in honor of you, Meg ).
Gwendolyn mn Julianna -- love Gwendolyn, but not paired with Julianna. It's not really that Julianna is "too much," as others have pointed out, but more that the two seem too similar IMO. G and J beginnings, -lynn and -ann(a) endings ... I don't know if that makes any sense but in my mind they're just really similar.
Cassidy mn ?? -- Cassidy is ok, but I do prefer Cassandra (especially with big sis Olivia!). Maybe Cassandra Julianne or Cassandra Laurice (an alternative to Clarice).
BOYS:
Colin mn Patrick/Shane -- love either of these combos, but Colin Patrick would get my vote.
Clint mn Robert/Richard<--(my grandpa's name) -- this one's just ok (and the teasing potential a pp mentioned doesn't help, KWIM?). When I saw you had Colin and Clint on your list, I immediately thought of Clive. Not sure it would appeal to you but it's a similar sound and style. If you're not sure about either of these there's also Callum, Carlin, Carrick (possibly also honoring your grandpa, if he ever went by Rick ), Cian, Ciaran, Cil(l)ian, Con(n)all, Con(n)or, Craig and Cullan.
HTH
