Hi All- Ok 2 months to go and I thought I was all set on Emerson or Eva but I recently thought of Maya and love it.
What do you think of Maya(pronounced my-ya)and would you spell it any other way. Thank you I appreciate the honest feed back. - Tara

What do you think of Maya
***
I like Maya, I also like Eva.
I like Maya far better than Emerson (not the least bit feminine) or Eve (just have never liked)
while Maya isn't one of my favorites and not anything I would personally ever use, I don't 'cringe' when I hear it.
I know one spelled Maia. I kind of like that.
either way, you can get people unfamiliar with the name pronouncing it starting ilke the month of May
good luck
I like Maya and Eva but not Emerson. The name Maya feels familiar and timeless. When I think of this name I picture someone that is beautiful and intelligent. I also have this name on my list of girl names too. Another way I've seen this name spelled is Maia. I prefer the spelling as Maya myself but you are the one who has to make that decision.

I have seen Maya spelled like that or like Maia, but I prefer the Maya spelling. I think it is easier to see how you expect it to be pronounced. Sure you are going to get people pronouncing it wrong, but I would bet no more than you would with Eva. Some people just can't pronounce anything right! I had people pronounce my name wrong (Megan) - come on!!
I love Maya! I think it is popular enough to not be 'weird' but also not TOO popular.
My order would be Maya, Eva, Emerson.

It's a GIRL!!

Emerson sound like boy's name to me. I think Eva it's a beautiful name, but I am from Latin America so I pronounce it as "eh" instead of "ee-va." I never heard it here in the U.S. So the pronunciation would make a difference for me to like it.
Maya sounds like the singer, but it's still a pretty name. Eva just sounds so misterious and elegant. I love it.
