My husband and I began calling our baby (due Aug 6) Bertie, long before we knew if it was a boy or a girl. We thought it was a good unisex name to use instead of "the baby." Now we know we're having a girl and Bertie has really grown on us. However, I can't think of many full names that go with the nickname Bertie. The ones that come to mind, Bertha and Roberta, are not to our liking. Beatrice is a possibility, but my husband isn't sure. Other names we have considered are Brody, Gray, Delaney and Annabel. Any full name suggestions for Bertie?

I think in this case, you may not need the full name to go with the nickname. Why don't you name her something that you love and then call her Bertie anyway as a family nickname? That way you wouldn't have to settle for a name you're not thrilled with. Besides, tons of nicknames don't come from the names themselves; they come from personality traits or funny stories.

I agree. I have a nickname that can't be derived from my name no matter how hard you try! lol

Have you ever seen the movie "Hope Floats" with Sandra Bullock? Her little girls name was "Bernice" and they called her Bertie. Very cute and original I think. Good Luck!
