Big brother hates baby's name.

Hi! My name is Tracie and I'm pregnant with my 3rd child. I have a 6 yr old, Ryan. A 1 yr old, Adam. And now, I'm expecting a girl. When I was pregnant with Adam, we said we would name the baby Sarah if he was a girl... My 6 yr old loved the name. Now that we ARE pregnant with a girl, I find the name Sarah beautiful, but overly popular. My dh and I want to name her Laura. The trouble is, our 6 yr old doesn't like the name. He's even talked to his teacher about it, saying he wishes we'd name her Sarah.
So ladies, what do you think? How important is it that we ALL agree with the name?
Thanks for your input!
Tracie

I actually prefer the name Laura to Sarah, but I do think Sarah has really cute nicknames: Sally & Sadie. Maybe sit down and talk to him about the baby's name and why you like Laura better now. Perhaps let me him help choose the middle name?
Good Luck!
Haven't read the other responses yet, we'll see where I stand with everyone else
I have two nieces named Sarah and Laura so either one is great. I think it's great that he wants to have input into this decison but you have to go with your gut. Maybe wait until she's born and see if she looks more 'Laura' like or more 'Sarah' like. Who knows maybe you won't like either one.
When I was pregnant with my DS we knew we were going to name him Graeme. We told our four year old that she could pick out the middle name. A few months later she came to us when we were sitting on the couch and she said, 'I want to name the baby Yoda.' My husband and I rolled our eyes and said "YODA?" 'Yes, she smiled because he's so cute!!' After he was born my husband was filling out the birth certificate while I was watching and he hesitated I was like you better not name my baby YODA! He got this devilsh grin but needless to say we didn't name him Graeme Yoda but chose Graeme Andrew but let her call him Yoda.
