Hello. My name is Sarah. We have done just fine in the past but this time I need help. We have two daughters and a third daughter on the way. Alexandra is 5, and Claire is 2. My husband is the type of person to come up with pet names for the kids, he calls Allie; Allie-Gator or Allie-Cat, and he calls Claire; Claire-Bear (like carbears). Anyway, we are trying to find a name that could have a cute nickname attatched to it (pref something to do with animals, but anything using the first name would be great at this point) and we are struggling. I know this is not a normal request but we would appreciate any help. My husband wont settle on a name until he has a nickname to use. I dont think hes ever called our daughters anything but their nicknames from the minute they were born

Tabitha - Tabby-cat
Elizabeth - Little Bit (my Uncle still calls my 22 year old cousin this)
Molly - Miss Molly (actually, adding "Miss" to the front or "Boo" etc to the back would work for lots of shorter names)
Hmm - I didn't think this would be so hard. I'll be curious to see all of the suggestions you get!
I love your dd's names and dh's nns for them are adorable.
How about Anna Banana? Ellie-belly?
Sounds to me like your DH will find a nickname no matter what name you pick, so maybe just choose a name you like, andlet the nickname come naturally...
BTW...my DD's name is Claire and my DH calls her Claire Bear!

Well
Well for starters, I'd avoid any Ella/Ellie type names ... your husband would, no doubt, re-name her Ella-phant in a second! ;)
In all seriousness, though, Allie-gator/cat and Claire-bear are both very common pet names, so I wouldn't actively try to find yet another given name that fits the bill. If you're more seeing if any of the names you already like might "work," so to speak, there's always ...
Maisie/Minnie/Millie/Molly (Mouse)
Lily (Tiger Lily)
Devin/Devorah/Devri/Devanie (our 2nd dd is named Devanie, and she occasionally gets called "Devil Dog," after the snack cakes LOL)
Adelaide (Lady Bug)
Madelaine/Delaney (Laney Bug)
Beatrix/Beatrice (Bea/Bee, Bebe, Busy Bea, Honey Bea, Queen Bee, Beetle Bug)
Lucy (Lucy Goosey)
Evangeline/Angelina (Angel Fish)
Marigold (Gold Fish)
J (any J name -- Blue Jay)
Larkin (Sky/Song/Meadow Lark)
Margaret/Magdalene/Madeline/Morrigan/Megan (Meg/Magpie)
Daisy (Duck)
Sally/Sarah/Amanda (Sally-mander/Salamanda)
Eloise/Louisa (weasel)
Aurora/Lorelei (Rory Lion ... I've honestly heard this for Lorelei LOL)
Isadora/Isidora (Izzy Bee, rather than busy bee)
*I've only listed nns or certain forms of some (Millie, for example, could be Millicent, Camille, Emilia, etc.), but any formal form would work.
Enjoy. ;)

How about:
Elizabeth or Eleanor (Ellie-phant)?
Hi! How fun! My MIL has always called my daughter Katie (Katie-Bug). It's very cute. However, that might be a stretch. I have also heard...
Jill- Jillybean
Anna/Hannah (banana)
Hmm, I Know I've heard more I just can't think of them at the moment. Good Luck!
Thanks belle_petite for the siggy!
What a fun challenge!
