Blaire - Opinions??

I absolutely love the name Claire, but my husband is totally against it. He suggested Blair (or Blaire) instead. I absolutely love it. I do not live in the UK, so relating the name to Tony Blair is irrelevent to me. I am just wondering what other people think of the name. I have a son named Blake, so I think Blake and Blaire sound cute together.

Please tell me your thoughts. :)

Reminds me of the Facts of Life, LOL, but I don't think it's a bad name, and will certaily hold up as a kid name and an adult name.

I also think of The Facts of Life, which isn't too much of an issue. Sometimes i like that kind of nostalgia. However, I do think that Blake and Blaire are a little "matchy". And they both seem slightly unisex to me, so I'd wonder if it was a pair of boys, pair of girls, or one and one.

I really like the name Blaire, but I honestly think it's a bit too matchy matchy with Blake.

I used to know a girl named Blair, and she was absolutely horrible, LOL. Even without that association, though, I agree Blake and Blair(e) are way too similar for siblings.

I like it but I would stick to the Blair spelling :)

I love Blair for a little girl. It's cute for a small child, but would age well. I didn't even think of Tony Blair until you mentioned it... I don't have any positive or negative connotations to the name. I think it sounds good with Blake as well.

I think it is really sweet. I prefer the Blair spelling too. Tony Blair did not even cross my mind - I think of the character on one of the ABC soaps (it has been years since I watched it so I can't remember which one).
I would give her a very feminine middle name.

Good Luck and Congrats

I instantly think of a boy - I went to school with a Blair.

I was all set to say, "Blair is not really my style, but if you love it, go for it."

Thanks everyone for your opinions. It did cross my mind that Blake and Blair would be too matchy. As much as I absolutely ADORE Blair, I think I will have to convice my husband otherwise.... I hate this whole name
