We have two children, Rebecca Clare and Leo Gabriel. We have been trying for #3 for a few years. Anyway, we both like the name Blaise. I like it but my husband loves it. MN will be Steven as it is a family name. So, what do you all think of the name Blaise. The name we like and that I love is Jude. DH has kind of turned on the name a bit. I figured I may lose this battle when and if the time comes. So, I wanted other people's opinions on the name Blaise Steven. Thank you.

Thanks for the response. I love the name Oliver. Unfortunately, one of our cats is named Oliver. Guess that rules it out for a baby. LOL.

I like Blaise (although I prefer it as a mn), but not with Steven as a mn at all. The two run into each other too much for me. I do like Steven Blaise, however.

Blaise is interesting and fun, and definitely off the beaten path with Rebecca and Leo. There's definitely nothing wrong with the combo Blaise Steven. I would've given it my entire blessing, had you not mentioned Jude.

Jude is the perfect name for a younger brother to Rebecca and Leo. I love its strength and history!

Jude Steven it is, but luckily, I don't feel you can go wrong with either choice.

Best wishes and let us know!

Hi there,

Blaise really isn't my style and I really don't think it goes well with Rebecca and Leo. Rebecca and Leo are both such down to earth, traditional names, where I feel Blaise is a made up, trendy name! Jude, on the other hand, is a personal favorite and goes very nicely with the style of your other two!

Good luck!

I LOVE the name Blaise, (I also like Jude BTW). I COMPLETELY disagree with the poster who says it sounds "made up and trendy"... It is the name of a French saint, not to mention the French philospher Blaise Pascal.
I know one Blaise in real life and he is probably in his mid thirties and is an architect.
I really think it is a lovely choice.
Hope that helps.
