Boy Name Axel, WDYT?

My husband loves the name Axel for a boy. It has a very good meaning (father of peace, divine source of life) but I'm not sold on it. If he wins me over on this name, the name would be Axel James. I have two boys named Jericho & Canaan. My personal favorite is Jonas Jeffrey. The middle names are taken from family members so I am limited to James, Jeffrey, Levi or Kade as middle names. What are your thoughts about the name Axel?

I like Axel, it's one of my grandfather's middle names. It sounds good as a first and middl ename I think. I also like Axton, that was suggested earlier. DH and I were considering Axel before we knew it was a girl.

Wow!! Axton, I love that suggestion! That's really clever! It gets the job done of honoring a family member, and takes away the GnR association! Axton--it sounds so...not quite majestic, but something like that...very cultured and "English manor lord"-like! :-)

can just imagine, Sir Axton lording his manor. i hadn't thought of anything like that, but does give that distinctive reverence. oh i know part of reason... Saxton, is a whole region. Axton would be a cool name. and also 'Ax' is a term for a guitar, maybe even be a guitar playing guy. and above all, in honor of family. would even be able to call him Axel yourself if you wish.. of course for you, the grandfather would override a drugged out sleezy rocker. too bad only popular asociation is that.. would be a great name of itself. did your grandfather know his shared name with Rose? what did he think of it?
