I have a friend who's an art teacher and often subs in other classes. This morning she had a class she'd never taught before, and was going over the class list to make sure she had everyone's names straight. Then she came to this one: Elexendre (yes, all Es). She was pretty sure it was either a variant spelling of Alexander or Alexandra, but wasn't sure which, so she started saying it slowly -- A-lex-an... when a little boy interrupted her and said "Yeah, it's said the same as Alexandra - the girl name! Please just call me Elex (Alex)!" Poor little fella!

Aww! That's sad. Poor kid is going to get made fun of having a name that sounds exactly like a girls name! Once I was looking at a list of baby names on a website, and there was a list of boy names that start with B. So I look at them and one of the names was Bowle! Who would name their kid after a butthole! Gosh this world is coming up with some extremely strange names.

I've seen the names Barn, Bevis, and Festus. I wasn't sure who would ever use those names but they were on a couple of lists I've looked at.

And that is why I get my panties all in a bunch over names spelled wrong. It looks stupid and the poor child suffers.
