Boy name? It is getting close . . .

Can you help me come up with a boy name? I am 34 weeks and a little stressed. My first son's name is Declan, an old Irish name which we liked because we thought it sounded strong and manly. Our last name starts with an H and is 2 syllables.
Ones we have considered are:
Jack (but soooo popular these days)
Alec (I love it but DH doesn't)
Reed or Reid
Garrett (DH has nixed this one too)
Any thoughts on these or, even better, any new suggestions?
Thanks!!!
Melissa

Here are some Irish/English/Celtic names for you that might go with Declan (which I love, btw):

I love the name Declan! So cute!

I like all your other names with Declan except for Jack. I think it's too different from Declan. So, Alec, Reid, or Garrett would be the ones I'd look at, and going with dh's feelings, I would go with Reid. Declan and Reid sound great together. I also thought of:

Aidan (I know it's popular but Declan and Aidan sound fabulous together)
Brannock
Conan (CO-nyn)
Cormac
Finian
Kieran
Kilian
Magnus
Ronan

Good luck!

I agree Jack's awfully popular, and so much more around that Declan. It would seem like one common name, one unique name. I don't know a soul named Declan, it obviously hasn't hit in my area. I've only EVER seen it on here

I don't like Alec or Reed, but I do like Garrett, too bad hubby doesn't

how about Keegan, Liam, Conner or Brennan for the Irish feel. I think any of those would go great with Declan.

good luck

I've always liked Kilian! Sounds good with Declan, too (love that name, btw). Both have a strong, masculine sound to them. Gets my vote! :)
