I'd like some ideas for a boys name beginning with an e - one issue is no *El* names as we have a DD named Ella.

Of course, you didn't ask, but I'm compelled to write my opinion anyway. I don't like matching initials for kids. Ella alone is gorgeous. Evan, for example, is strong, current, and appealing. Ella with a little brother named Evan takes aways some of the glory of both names.
Another question/point... Do you have two daughters? Does the other one NOT have an E- name? Remember, as siblings age, they DO compare the choices you've made for them.
If you're are wanting their names to "match" why not move to letter F? Or another four-letter name? Or an E- name with the option of nn that doesn't start with E-?
Examples-F- Ella & Finn (adorable), Ella & Frederick, Ella & Fletcher, Ella & Felix, Ella & Fabian
Ex. - four letters- Ella & Finn (again), Ella & Ross, Ella & Hugh, Ella & Dane, Ella & Lars, Ella & Noel, Ella & Joel, Ella & Wade (I LOVE! Of course, these were Scarlett's first two children, may or may not matter), Ella & Liam
Ex. of E-names with nn of another letter- Everett (Rett), Ezekiel (Zeke), Edward (Ned), Ethaniel (Thane)
And finally, here are the E- names(but no short e- sounds with Ella!)- Easton, Emory, Emerson, Emmett, Ewing--- Ethan is too popular.
Hope this helps, and I don't mean to belittle your name style, just wanted to give you another approach to consider.
