What do you think of Keenan for a boy? A little different but it's my best friends last name, thought it was kind of cool.

I love it! I'd use it but my nephew's name is Keagan.

I LOVE the name and have tried many times to convince my husband that we should use it.

I wanted to use it because it is the last name of Maynard James Keenan, singer from TOOL and Perfect Circle. I just thought it was a really neat name and wished DH would agree!

I knew a Keenan in high school -- he was 3 years older than me, I think. Anyway, it was certainly different in our community of Mike, Brian, John, Tom, etc., but it suited him well. He was very popular, athletic, and good looking, too -- I could definitely see it on the right little guy.

I like it a lot! It's not actually that unusual, I have heard it before. And it would be nice that it's your best friend's last name. Good choice :)

I went to school with a Keenan, and I really liked his name. He would be 35 now, and he is the only person I have ever met with that name. IMO ... you should use it, if yu like it!
Good Luck!

I think it's a great name. I like it because it's different. Hearing the same names over and over can become a little boring.

I don't like it, but only because it reminds me of that awful Nickelodeon show, Keenan & Kel. Vile. But, I like the idea of using your friend's surname as your son's first name. I've found that even when I hate names when I first hear them, as soon as I meet the child, it seems to fit. I babysit little boys named Leon (I really hated this one) and Brilyn (and I thought this sounded like a made-up girl's name), but now I don't even think about their names because the boys are so cute.

I like it, the only Keenan I've ever heard of was/is Keenan Ivory Waynes (In Living Color)
