i became unsure of it a day or so ago-but now i look at it and it's growing on me. i really like brooke. i have been through soooooo many names trying to avoid certain letters etc that at this point like so many previous posters have said does not really matter. i'm thinking something-probably something- we have looked at closely already will end up being her name-presidents name or not-i know in my heart we have not named our children after presidents on purpose to be trendy or cutesy. i appreciate all of the names suggested ...... and i know at some point one of them will 'pop'out at me. janet
Have you considered Brooks as a first name? Adding the 's' gives it the unisex spin, like Carter, Hunter and Kennedy. Yet you get to use a name you love. Brooks Anderson is very nice.
You could use one of your other choices as a middle name: Brooks McKinley; Brooks Carrington, Brooks Mackenzie. It flows well with a lot of names.
Good luck with your search. I hope you find a name you love.
brooke actually is a masculine name.just google brooke anderson and a slew of mens pics popup. brooks is to much like brooks and dunn-granted my dh likes them when i think of brooks i think of a country singer. i initially liked brooke victoria but it did not flow-even though a cnn newscaster has gone her much of her life as brooke victoria anderson. the thing with middle names is that we put so much thought into them and why really-the only time you hear them is when your mom is upset with you.many people go through life with not even saying them. i once had two middle names-Inez and Povier (pronounced poo-vi-ay) my father is french as is my maiden name-do i use any of it now. nope, just simply "I." Infact I have used just 'I' probably since applying to college in the eighties. after getting married did i lose it and take on my maiden as a middle like some do-nope-maybe an option of using no middle name or just an initial would be best. janet
True confession: part of why I started to date my husband was because of his middle names. They were elegant and unusual and he had two of them. I'd never known anyone with two middle names before and they were kinda cool and British and they both had family stories behind them. So, even though I just sign my middle initials on most paperwork, I'm glad that Penn will have little stories behind his middle names, too. (Even though the first one is pretty silly.)
I love Brooke! As I have said in a pp my best friend is Brooke Tabret (ta-br-a) I hope you can figure that out :) It sound like ta, as in tap. Br as in its cold and a long -a at the end. French maybe??? I don't know, I just think it is a beautiful name! Other options:
Brooke Caroline Brooke Elizabeth Brooke Annalise
or you could have Brooke as the middle name, but call her Brooke. I have another friend Natalie Brooke. She goes be Brooke.
I really like Carrington and Brooke equally well. I think they are both classic names that your daughter will love! Pick the one you like the best :) You can't go wrong!
i can remember as a kid being proud of two middle names-but to be honest in america sometimes especially in the south with ethnic names-in this case french-sooooooo many people lack the ability to pronounce them. i was very happy to get married and finally have a name that is recognized and the only question i get is-is it 'on' or 'en'. to this day people mispronounce my maiden name.it has a french spelling and i cringe when i hear people attempt to say it. well enough of that....whatever i come up with will be easily pronounced....lol. janet
I hope any that any of these helped you ... I really do like the name Carrington. I love your dd's names so whatever you choose will be beautiful! GOOD LUCK!!!
