In case it's a girl...

In case we have a girl, we want to name her Ruby (definitely already decided by both me and my hubbie). The middle name must be Andie or Andi (after my husband's father who has alzeihmer's and who's name is Andrew but everyone calls him Andy). So, I am wondering if there is a first name which Ruby could be the nickname for? Like Rubina (which actually means faucet in Italian so that doesn't work).

Also, which spelling do you like, Rubie or Ruby? Andie or Andi?

Again the name has already been decided Ruby Andie T.......spelling to be decided.

Thanks so much for your help you fab moms (and dads if you are writing too!)

A few ideas:

Rebecca nn Ruby

Rubaina nn Ruby

I definitely prefer the Ruby spelling. I also like Andie and Andy better than Andi.

Good Luck!

First, I prefer the spelling Ruby, which I think is a very lovely name. It was actually my great-grandmother's name. Anyway, I actually I think Ruby Andrea (which is actually the female form of Andrew)would flow nicely.

All of the names that use nn Ruby that I found add an "an" sound that I wouldn't put together with the middle name Andy.

Just my thoughts :) Hope this helps.

I definetly prefer the spelling Ruby, but have you considered Andrea for the mn? Its still very similar to Andi, but is more feminine and flows better. Ruby Andrea sounds nice. But if you still want Andi/Andie, I prefer Andie. Looks more complete.
