Hi- I'm due any day w/ DD #2. Would love to know your thoughts on the names Celia, Lydia and Lucy... which do you prefer as well as suggestions for middle names.

We are totally stumped as to what to name this baby!! Thanks!

Gosh, I like them all. Celia is likely to be the most uncommon (down in the 700s for 2006,) though I know one small one. I think Lydia is creeping up the charts (it's my niece's name...she's about six months old.) And Lucy...I keep thinking Lucy should be crawling up the charts, with old names being in fashion again, but while it's steadily climbing, it's not as high on the charts as Lydia.

For me, personally...gosh. Nope. I still can't quite decide. It think it would be down to Celia and Lucy for me, but they conjure up two very different images. Celia sounds gentle and pensive, while Lucy seems more spunky and sparkly. I'd probably take both to the hospital and see which "fit," personally.

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback. I'm starting to think we're going to have to meet her to decide as well! Oh well, it should be any day now!

You should take all three to the hospital and see which one she "looks" like! I think all three are beautiful names, it's no wonder you're having such a hard time deciding! Does DH have a preference?

As for DH and I, we are going with Lucy Annabella if we have a girl in September. The name means a lot to us for many diff. reasons

I like all 3 names. Lydia and Celia have been favorites of mine for years. Lucy is my least favorite - but still a great name.

I guess my decision would depend on your last name and how it sounds with your other childs name. Good luck with your choice.

I like Lydia best because it's a family name for me but if you don't have that connection, it would be my last choice since it's the most popular of the three.

I like Celia because it is softer and more uncommon.

I like Lydia the best. Celia isnt my style and Lucy sounds like a dogs name to me. Good luck!!!

I really love all 3, how hard! For me, I'd be able to remove Lucy from the list b/c I know several little girls w/ that name. Between Celia and Lydia, I couldn't choose. I agree w/ pp's that you could see which personality fits her- Celia is more elegant/ sophisticated to me and Lydia is more sweet.
