Chinese Gender chart-accurate for you?
| Sat, 06-21-2003 - 1:49am |
I was just curious to see if that Chinese Gender chart was accurate in predicting the gender of your babies. I am pregnant with my fourth child and don't know what it is yet. On my previous children it was right on each one. For those of you who have checked it out, was it right?

For my first I'm not sure if it was right because I was younger than 18. She was conceived in January and is a girl.. but I have no clue if that's what the gender chart would say. My second was conceived in May when I was 19 and is a girl, so the chart is right with her as well.
BUTTTTTTTT... I was 20 when this one was conceived (in December) and it says it's going to be a boy. All my ultrasounds say girl.. but I've had the "boy" thought in the back of my head since I first saw the gender chart! So I guess we will see if it's right with me or not.
My date of birth is september 14th 1975 and I have a daughter add now I want to have a boy so please can u tell me according to chinese calender which month is for me to conceive a boy and do we have to see according to the chinese age or lunar month or the regular age.
thanks.
I conceived my son (1st baby)in the month of May 2004 when i was 29.
It didn't work for me (predicted boy; got girl - extremely happy regardless). Other posts seem to suggest that the results are 50-50 - exactly what one might expect from a statistic possibility that offers only two options. In addition, an ancient Chinese calendar did not correspond to the modern version of the western Gregorian one. Who performed the adjustments to make to two coincide? Was this even done? There are 100 questions one could also ask about the confluence of dates and ages and how these were measured in ancient Chinese culture, etc.
In short, take with a huge grain of salt. A far more accurate predictor to parents who want surprise but enjoy deciphering clues will come as you labor. The corrolation between gender and heartrate during labor is based on real physiological differences between males and females (confirmed by my doctor) and is such a clear predictor that the medical staff at my daughter's birth started talking about the baby as a "she" about a 1/2 hour before she came. Two more caveats - while male heartrates tend to stay low, those of females can be all over the map during labor - so low heartrate doesn't rule out girls entirely. In addition, the heartrate issue doesn't matter at any other time during pregnancy - my little girl's heartrate was in the low 120's the whole time, only to shoot up dramatically during the birth process. Enjoy whatever you have!
